Iran/Israel enters day 2 of conflict. Israel bombs selected military strike - but it seems to be a preemptive strike to disurpt their nuclear capabilities - especially since the US administration isn't good at playing poker.
TIL: The Catholic Church beatified Carlo Acutis - a boy who was a devout Catholic and committed to documenting Eucharistic miracles on his blog, but died of leukemia at the age of 15 in 2006. Four years later, a Brazilian mother who knew of the blog claimed that her son was cured of pancreatic cancer because of the late Acutis. A year later, Acutis' mom said that her son came to her in her dreams and said he would be canonized. Four years later, the Catholic Church took those two events as the two miracles and he was canonized. So now he is Saint Carlo Actutis and he is interred in Assisi. He is preserved in wax and lies wearing a tracksuit, sneakers, and has a computer device tucked under his arm.
On one hand, I have admiration for Wilcox' use of the Aranda-school of defensive scheme. It is a nominal 3-4 front that uses hybrid players - a OLB that is often the fourth guy on rush, a safety that sneaks up to play soft LB, a "coin" player that is hybrid CB and LB, plus position guys who can drop back into coverage. That being said, I miss DeRuyter's use of disguising looks just before the snap, then a CB slides into a new place. I thought this latter part was a big part of the Takers 1.0 being so successful.
Very good insight and analysis. This is also why football is so fun, it continues to innovate and evolve on both offense and defense. Football, at its core is basically a game of chess in real life. The way the player can and do move and line up resembles a game chess.
Andrew Vaughn gets traded to the Brewers after struggling in his fourth season. The Sox will eat $2.4m of his $5.9m salary. He may not even start at the Brewers.
Cinci relief pitcher Wade Miley's was named in a deposition to be the guy who may have provided fentanyl-laced Oxy to Tyler Skaggs which later killed Skaggs. Miley is not charged with anything and is presumed innocent.
Brewers rookie Misiorowski debuts in blazing fashion throwing up to 102 mph that sets up a slider in the mid-90 that just seems unfair. He no-hits the Cards through the 5th and then rolls his ankle and has to exit.
Federal judge blocks deployment of National Guard in California. The move goes beyond just the original restraining order, it cancels the deployment. An appeals court overturns that block.

I had to look him up also. UFC guy. 6'3", 287. At 5'3", she's a lot shorter, and her weight seems to be unlisted, but she appears to have a similar build.
It’s time for another edition of Oski Disciple’s quote of the day.
“It is easy, when you are young, to believe that what you desire is no less than what you deserve, to assume that if you want something badly enough, it is your God-given right to have it.” ― Jon Krakauer, Into the Wild
I was a volunteer peer counselor at Haste Street House, later named ARC-Alternative Resources and Counseling. For training, we were required to take a class in Rogerian therapy. Same class as the Psychology and Social Welfare majors. Residence hall advisors also took this class.
Not only what you desire but also if you work hard at it, you will have it. Plenty of people desire and work hard for what they want but never achieve that which they want.

Same here. I proposed to my wife in Hawaii, at Diamond Head. I don’t remember what I said but at least I remember her saying yes.
I remember what I said to both the first wife and the second wife. Fortunately, they were both pretty happy about it.
