I saw this picture a week or so ago and someone said it's like they told the cast from The Kids in the Hall that they had five minutes to find the most "Karen" costume they could and this was the result.
Jeffrey Clark was that rogue DOJ guy who convinced Trump to appoint him AG after Barr resigned and Rosen refused to do his dirty work. He didn't end up becoming AG because the entire DOJ management threatened to resign en masse if he was appointed. Clark spoke before J6 Committee and invoked the Fifth over 100 times. Welp, he just got his house raided for his troubles. I hope they find dirty on ya, Jeffy, you traitorous bootlick.
SCOTUS allows North Carolina voter ID law to be defended. The NC legislature is overwhelmingly GOP due to gerrymandering, while the governor and AG are Democrats because the majority of people lean slightly left. Looks like we'll need IDs to vote in NC again. 9.6% of NC blacks don't have ID, more than double the rate of whites.
SCOTUS nixes requirement for "proper cause" need to apply for concealed carry permit in NY, opening up the path toward everyone being able to pack heat. Tell the Clantons and McLaury brothers to meet us at the OK Corral.
I really hate all the people who decided not to vote for Hillary because she was just as bad as trump. I also really hate that Biden decided not to run 16.
It should be a 5-4 court with Democratic appointments in the majority right now.
It reminds of the Nader posters on the Cal campus in 2000 that depicted caricatures of Bush and Gore melding into the same person, suggesting they were the same. How incredibly wrong that was
I get that but unfortunately, I feel that opinion gained traction and caught on nationwide with Dems/liberals/independents in swing states, as many people felt that Trump was surely going to lose to Hillary. That belief had a disastrous outcome.
Pathetic, were they going to their Militia training? The majority is not SCOTUS members really, they are just Republics carrying out Republican agenda ideas without any real reference to the constitution at all.
Yes of course but dudes, this is why the position that “the 2A should just be properly interpreted” is so meaningless and futile. The Court is a conservative court and will be for decades. At least! Could be longer.
As much of a long shot as repealing the 2A seems, it is more realistic than just sitting around and hoping SCOTUS reverses course on this. They never will.
Rewatched an all-time classic yesterday and one of my faves…The Town. Affleck, Renner, Hamm Chris Cooper, Welliver, Blake Lively…they were all so good - a real solid directorial job by Affleck.
Obi-Wan Kenobi finished yesterday; we really liked overall- sure there was some elements that one could comment about, but Ewan McGregor and many of the others were great to see again. Overall a large success.
The first 5 episodes were a bit uneven and lacking at times but that finale was great. Ewan McGregor was great. I would love some more Kenobi adventures with him.
That fight scene was phenomenal.
Minor nitpick and I know it couldn’t be done but did Kenobi not learn anything?!?! How could he make the same mistake again?!?
The Vader/Anakin and Obi-Wan scenes were the best part. Otherwise I found the show okay at best.
[SPOILERS]
-Leia being a character is okay, but too many episodes seemed to hinge their drama on whether or not she was in danger. We know she's not in danger. I wasn't a fan of the kidnapping subplot.
-Third Sister/Reva was an interesting character, but it felt like her arc was pretty much done after Episode 5. I didn't really understand what she was doing in 6.
-Having child Luke meet an actual Sith who has a light saber and uses the Force seems to break the character as introduced in A New Hope, doesn't it? Did we really need to have Luke involved in this plot? Does every show need to have Luke in it?
That was very interesting and something that has seemed obvious over the years, that the distribution of content was too thin to succeed. The Pac-12 network should have been operating as a production company distributing content to ABC, ESPN, and Fox rather than running their own studio, camera folks and broadcast teams plus managing every aspect of distribution and advertising. The failure to negotiate a deal with Dish Networks is an example along with the failure of streaming options which would have guaranteed a wider audience.
The "multiple regional networks" thing never made sense to me. One channel is enough. Failure to get on DirecTV after all these years was also a baffling development.
I thought the multiple regional networks allowed those regions to broadcast the sports for those schools. So like PAC-12 Bay Area would show Cal and Furd sporting events and shows and the LA ones would show the LA schools. I guess it turns out people didn't care much about the non revenue sports.
Besides, there should be plenty of off-hours time to cover those sports when football and basketball games aren't on the main network. Having all those regional networks was overkill. As far as I could tell, they mostly wound up just replaying old games.
I used to work indirectly for DirecTV on the backend. The initial reason like a decade ago was tech incompatibility. Pac12 was not capable of providing a video feed that met DTV's requirements. There was inconsistent (sometimes bad) video gear across the various Pac12 feeds. You still see a noticable difference if you bounce between the regionals.
Supposedly, PAc12 upped their gear, and now its supposedly all about money.
Honestly, I thought it was always about money. The Pac-12 got the cable companies to pay a certain price, but DTV demanded less than that.
Which was a reasonable excuse for why we weren't on DTV in the first few years, but at this point it's just stubbornness. Do you want people to see your network or not?
The MLB-worst Oakland A’s lost again on Wednesday, by a lot, and without scoring any runs. This time they fell 9-0 to the Seattle Mariners, at home at the Coliseum.
The pitching didn’t go well. All-Star candidate Paul Blackburn got hammered in by far his worst start of the year so far, both in terms of his shortest duration and most runs allowed. The right-hander was lifted with nobody out in the 5th inning, and when the dust settled there were seven runs charged to him. There were homers, there were doubles, there was lots of hard contact, oh my.
In a back-and-forth affair, the Dodgers took the sixth game of six played against the Reds in 2022, beating Cincinnati 8-4 on Wednesday night. A Great American Ball Park classic with plenty of runs to go around.
Football is the so-called game of inches, but in a sport where pitchers are trying to hit a rather small target, and hitters can see a ball go foul by you guessed it, inches, baseball can also be categorized in a similar manner.
The outcome of a game, the path it takes from very early on, can be affected by plays decided by the tiniest of margins.
There's really no rhyme or reason to Kapler's use of his bullpen, tho DeSclafani getting ripped the night before didn't help...unfortunately he burned Doval Monday and Tuesday, BOTH in non-save situations, including a 12-8 lead Tuesday. Cost them yesterday - McGee had nothing.
Very sad. He was a great player with a big personality. I’ll never forget when he pancaked Rich Gannon.
If I had to guess, I would assume it is weight related. It seems like retired OL are able to lose their playing weight and slim down much better than DL can.
That picture -
What a waste of pixels. One of them even looks a little like Ginni Thomas, which is barf-inducing in and of itself.
There's a '4 horsewomen of the apocalypse' joke that a more creative person than me could come up with.
That is a picture of the saddest set of groupies I’ve ever seen. Tommy Lee wept.
Unfortunately, these ladies had their picture taken at a rally in my area - Raleigh.
Trump grabs them by both the p**** and the check book.
Oh yeah
I was thoroughly nauseated looking at the picture. Does that collection of middle aged and older women get backstage passes to be with DJT?
I'm finding today's picture especially annoying today. Might have to take a break from DBD.
I saw this picture a week or so ago and someone said it's like they told the cast from The Kids in the Hall that they had five minutes to find the most "Karen" costume they could and this was the result.

No one cares about non-revenue/ olympic sports unless they're a national high profile team, or you are a former player.
Or named Ruey.
Yeah, and everyone should have known about that.
Besides, there should be plenty of off-hours time to cover those sports when football and basketball games aren't on the main network. Having all those regional networks was overkill. As far as I could tell, they mostly wound up just replaying old games.
