Hell yeah. Black and Tans for dinner was totally a thing for us too as a family. Also, I remember looking at their menu and wondering who would order that 99 scoop banana split.
I’m off to Vegas this afternoon with Pa Chitwood for our annual visit to Sin City to place our NFL Futures wagers. Last year, I bet the Niners to win the NFCW and rolled with Pittsburgh as my team to overachieve…Pops went with Detroit…this year, he’s on Atlanta…
Still trying to nail down my dark horse…any suggestions?
Today's is Dan Snyder's last day of owning the the Washington Football Team. Don't let the door hit you in the ass. And congratulations, you are being considered for SGBear's coffee-table book entitled "Piss on Your Grave", which has pictures of and locations of deceased people's final resting places should you want to visit them.
Do you guys play Immaculate Grid? Is it your view that it’s kosher to flip through rosters for ideas? I see the score distributions so heavily slanted to 7s/8s/9s and I feel like this must be the product of rampant cheating
I play with my boys every day. No 3's rarity score for yesterday's was 14. I was on a roll until I had to use Kiermeier for Rays/Jays.
We don't use rosters. I think people just write bots to come up with the answers. Or use the bref site seaching for players that play with X teams. there are always 1000s of completed ones within like 10 min.
The Cincinnati Reds' payroll is bananas. Ken Griffey Jr is the third highest paid player. Joey Votto makes as much money as the rest of their active roster combined. Their second highest player on the active roster is their 3rd string catcher. Mike Moustakas is making a 35x as much money from the Reds than the team is currently playing for - which is two teams later.
Do you hear that Ginni Thomas? They have taken the bridge and the Second Hall. You have barred the gates but cannot hold them for long. The ground shakes...drums, drums in the deep. You cannot get out. The shadow moves in the dark. You cannot get out. Justice is coming.
I saw the Spin Doctors at a free concert yesterday in downtown Raleigh. I didn't know them apart from three songs from the early 90s radio. I had no idea that their style is super broad - from punk, to Austin Blues style, to grunge, to whatever. I also have to credit them for not phoning in their performance despite performing the same songs for over 3 decades. They are actually super talented musicians, not some got-lucky hippies. Also, I learned yesterday that the Spin Doctors was a high school band started by lead singer Chris Barron and had classmate John Popper on harmonica. Popper left after 3 years to focus on his main band Blues Traveler.
I would imagine not enough affordable housing downtown for the students to live in. At least the main campus has plenty of housing. Around downtown, it's mainly expensive highrises isn't it?
DBD once again consigned to the archive. It's a scandal of epic proportions and I'm calling for a congressional investigation. I blame the deep state -- and maybe the shallow state for that matter.
Just as I thought. Two hours and no response. You're all in on it. Every one of you. A conspiracy of silence. I'm warning you, this will be uncovered, truth will out.

Black and Tan (Fenton's, not the cocktail), occasionally consumed as dinner, usually during finals week.
Such memories!
My absolute favorite.

Yeah. I just thought yesterday about going back to Fentons for a black and tan one of these days. The toasted almond ice cream is great.

Bread
Was a band in the 70s.
Most of Cal's recruiting class so far
My friend wants to know if bread is slang for good or bad or if you mean literal bread
Bread is filling so players making up a roster who wont be meaningful contributors are "bread"

Well you can attend PAC 12 media day!
To quote Mel Gibson in Braveheart “I Will Nawt”
Jets, Chargers, Lions
Chargers aren’t winning anything with Staley as their HC.
At least Joe Lombardi’s gone…I actually like Kellen Moore there.
But Staley’s such a boob it may not matter.
If you like real long shots perhaps Chicago or the Jets.
Those aren't long shots, they are donations.
Yeee OUCH

Anyone else watch the new Justified? We quite enjoyed it.

That was true until fairly recently. But now, vast expanses of downtown highrises are empty.
It all seems so bizarrely desperate - unimaginable a few years ago
Also it’s a bit odd that she is spitballing uses of private property that she/the city doesn’t own

Funny, I'd have thought that this topic would draw more interest. Maybe it's more of a dog bites man than a man bites dog.
SDSU: something went terribly wrong https://twitter.com/Samsworth_KSL/status/1681769053877334016
Wonder if we’ll ever know the full story.
My best guess. The incompetence of the Pac10 strikes again. I bet the Pac10 told them it was a done deal and then just left sdsu out to dry.
Per CU Chancellor, a new Pac-12 media deal is being presented to the schools tonight

George K is speaking tomorrow at 8 am on PAC 12 network. Hopefully he'll have something to announce. Cal segment is supposed to be 2:30 to 3:00
He will announce the merger of the Pac10 and MWC.
Is that outside the realm of possibilities?
No, not really.
I feel like Charlie Brown and Lucy has placed the ball down again
She did it again. Good grief.

Probably not enough for the death penalty, but sounds like many teams will be ineligible for postseason play for quite a while.
You know, Cal would be a good replacement for NW...
Right when they are building a new stadium!
