another friend has created a 2-player chess playing app in case you were looking for a good way to play online

normally other chess playing apps lack something and you need to run Zoom or Slack on the side to communicate during the game. this app tries to stitch it all together.

if you have any feedback or comments, i can send it along to my friend since this is all very early on for him

i had a conversation w/ a friend about his chess playing this weekend

me: did you end up playing chess/go? how was it?

friend: We played chess. He brought shame upon his house.

me: did he play w/o honor? or just lose in battle?

friend: he played with honor, but his wife is brutal and only cares about the end result.

DeSantis held an event in Concord, NH. His staff cut prices from $50 to $1, despite there being free flow beer. Only 30 people showed up.

to be fair .. there are not a lot of people in NH as you get more than 20 miles away from Boston. still 30 people is pretty bad

Rochester is a city in Strafford County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 32,492 at the 2020 census. I

I think the #1 thing a T successor needs is to be entertaining. That is really his great appeal. I don’t think the policy positions or even lib baiting matter nearly as much. Successor has to be someone in entertainment, if not a Fox News blowhole then a celeb that leans right. Tim Allen?

Sen. McCarthy and the GOP have been manufacturing impeachment inquiries against Biden based upon trumped up corruption charges that he did corrupt business with his son. Both sides of the aisle fought over compelling Hunter Biden's business partner to testify in front of the GOP controlled House Oversight Committee as the star witness. GOP won and their star witness testified... except he didn't corroborate the GOP's narrative.

He seems to be a terrible person. In more ways than just the vaccince bullshit.

HeyStudentsBears's avatar

not surprising since if you "try to find" coverage Trump committing any crimes at all on Fox News you generally wont find any.

you cant believe something that you dont even know about.

Is today the Big Day for the Pac12 to release it's media package? Inquiring minds want to know.

SGBear's avatar

If Lucy ever does put the football down, it's going to be a flaming bag of poop.

The only favorable scenario out is if Cal extorts the Big 10 and demand that we get admitted because "we're going to sue UCLA for damages, so you might as well let us in anyways" value-proposition. All other seem to point toward implosion of the athletics department

FiatSlug's avatar

Show 'em strength by threatening to sue.

Good, good. That'll make 'em want to invite us.

AndyPanda's avatar

I don't think anyone in the B1G is quaking in their boots at this prospect.

FiatSlug's avatar

Which proves yet again that sarcasm often doesn't translate very well in a message board.

GoldenSD81's avatar

This is the way.

The Pac is dead. The Big12, MWC and going independent aren’t a viable option.

Big10 or bust.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

It’s absolutely doom….we know this from the general inactivity over the past 12 months.

OskiOfTarth's avatar

Today's announcement is good news for Cal - a $20M/school package means Cal gets to maximize UCLA's penalty payment up to $10M/per which makes Cal the biggest earner in the PAC-8!

that would have been a bit of a comeuppance. Something's not quite right with this US team at the moment. Doesn't seem like the coach is particularly good if he can't get much out of this squad

Autopsy shows that Ray Lewis' son died of [checks notes]... too much of everything.

https://www.planetf1.com/news/otmar-szafnauer-needed-time-leaving-alpine/

dcblue's avatar

I think this is what you were trying to convey.

The local medical examiner’s office has ruled the death of Ray Lewis III, a son of former Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, accidental and due to a lethal combination of drugs in his system, an investigator said Saturday.

Lewis III, 28, was found unconscious in a Central Florida home on June 14. Lifesaving attempts were unsuccessful and he died at a hospital. Police said at the time it was a suspected overdose.

An investigator with the Medical Examiner’s Office that serves Seminole County on Saturday provided a reporter with Lewis’ cause and manner of death while a request for the full autopsy report was pending. The office ruled the manner of death an accident and the cause as a mix of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine.

We have horseflies in our area. They have jaws that are like scissors, except the sharp part is on the outside. They stab you, then slice open the skin and dab their saliva in to the wound with an anti-coagulant that burns. The jaws are strong enough to go through horse and cow hide. And they do it all as the blink of an eye, doing it nearly instantaneously to landing on you. This means a full sized horsefly is way worse than an angry hornet.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

the sound a bit worse than the black flies you get up north. but there is a legit "black fly season" when going camping/hiking is not advised.

there is also "mud season" in VT where the trails are nearly impassible.
