I am going to be less active for the rest of the year because I am taking 16 credits while also holding down a full-time job. Don't feel shy about posting stuff. It's just the Daily Bear Dump.

been on a 3 wk road trip on West Coast .. Seattle, Portland, Crater Lake, Rouge River rafting, Ashland, Bend, Lost Coast, Norcal Redwoods, wine country, and Bay Area for a week.

Monday are especially brutal. Up at 4-7am work. 8am-1pm class. 1-5 work @ school library. 5-10pm class. And "class" is in a kitchen that is >100 degrees and on my feet the whole time. I am going to be greasy, exhausted, and so sleepy on the way home tonight.
Michael Kim misses out on playing in the Tour Championship by one place. Missed by nine FedEx points of 1,400 because his friend and playing partner for the day birdies the 18th.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Ballers blew a 12-1 lead in Sunday's series finale against the Rocky Mountain Vibes, but still found a way to come out on top, 14-13. Oakland is the first to 60 wins in the Pioneer League, thanks to 10 straight series wins.
The Athletics ended their weekend series against the Angels with a tough loss, dropping the final game of the series 11-5 in 10 innings.
The starter for the A’s this afternoon was left-hander Jeffrey Springs. It wasn’t a quality start to this one as Los Angeles jumped on Springs in the first with three runs off a 3-run blast from young outfielder Jo Adell, who is finally breaking out for the Angels. The A’s did get one of those runs back in the bottom half of the frame when Brent Rooker doubled and came around to score on an RBI hit from Tyler Soderstrom:
The San Francisco Giants’ last win was a series opener against Washington on August 8th. Since then, they’ve been a discordant, disjointed bunch, losing a season-high 7 straight games, all at home, to match a low-light that had been shoved under the franchise rug for 125 years.
The Dodgers showed the Padres who truly runs the West, as they secured their first three-game sweep of San Diego since May 2023, winning the finale by a 5-4 final score.
Tyler Glasnow got off to a soaring start to his afternoon, as he worked around a Luis Arraez double to strike out the side in the top of the first inning, getting both Manny Machado and Jackson Merrill looking after the double.
Don't have a link, but looks like JKS won the starter role. The fact that we have a starting QB before the first week means Wilcox must have had his hands ripped off the offense.
FULLERTON, Calif.– The California women's soccer team ended its season-opening road trip with a scoreless draw against Cal State Fullerton Sunday afternoon.
The Golden Bears (1-0-1) both picked up and suffered their first shutout of the season. The Titans (0-0-1) who were playing in their first match of the year, bent but refused to break and survived an onslaught of Cal attacks that featured nine corner kicks.
SALVADOR, Brazil – California junior Julia Bonaguidi, sophomore Rosalie Hassett and head coach Coralie Simmons helped the United States capture the gold medal Saturday at the World Aquatics Under-20 Championships in Salvador, Brazil.
Team USA held off Spain 16-15 in the Gold Medal Match after slipping past Italy 13-11 in a penalty shootout in Friday's semifinals.
BERKELEY – Former California outfielder Dylan Beavers was called up to the Baltimore Orioles and will be in the starting lineup Saturday for his MLB debut.
Beavers will be batting sixth and playing in right field when the O's face the Houston Astros today at 4:10 p.m. PT.

while i dont have anything close to an official diagnosis, my therapist tells me that i have some spectrum-y personality traits .. so these types of movies and personalities are always super interesting to me.
Watched it a few weeks ago. Meh. Then rewatched No. 1. Which is very good. And, like, in that one he actually does accountant-y things! As opposed to the sequel.
How to not feel guilty about those unread books on your shelf:
Many readers buy books with every intention of reading them, only to let them linger on the shelf. Statistician Nassim Nicholas Taleb believes surrounding ourselves with unread books enriches our lives as they remind us of all we don’t know. Unread books also prompt us to read more, which studies show can reduce stress and boost cognitive skills.

it is all relative in NYC because the really good stuff is really expensive. the game is to find a balance of price and quality you are happy w/ in the moment.
