The Athletics fell to the Rays on Wednesday night at the Coliseum, losing a close 4-2 matchup that’ll put a bit more pressure on tomorrow’s finale as the A’s will hope to avoid losing a series three games to one. At least tonight had it’s exciting moments.
The Chicago White Sox are the worst team in baseball this season. Before Wednesday, they had the worst winning percentage in baseball history since the 1899 Cleveland Spiders. But their relentless losing was no match for the San Francisco Giants’ inability to hit Wednesday, as Logan Webb’s eight-inning gem was wasted when a bullpen meltdown led to a 6-2 loss. Now, the White Sox are only the worst team since the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics!
After threading the needle for much of the first two games against the Mariners, the Dodgers enjoyed an easier path to a win on Wednesday. LA punished the M’s starter for a change and took care of business against an offense that doesn’t pose much of a threat. A five-run fifth led the way to an 8-4 win at home that frankly wasn’t that close.
Green Day is in Cincy tonight and Milwaukee on Sat. It's too bad tonight is the last night of the convention. Green Day playing American Idiot with the lyric "I'm not part of the MAGA agenda" would be great.
The school's nickname of Zips, short for Zippers, was introduced in 1925, inspired by a B.F. Goodrich brand of rubber galoshes with metal fasteners.
