same - the .gov site identified Salinas as the closest location (entered my zip code, I live in the Bay Area). Searched CVS and Walgreens and found appointments near me.

Feinstein has already said she's not running for re-election, but that's because of her physical condition and age. It isn't because she has some desire to allow her seat to be filled by someone younger, although she should. She also might not live to see the end of her term, either.
Since McConnell's current term expires in January 2027, there's a real possibility he could pass on while still holding office. McConnell looks increasingly fragile and his two freezes do not augur better days ahead.
Took a gander at the PAC 12 football schedule for the coming weekend. With the exception of UW at MSU it's a line-up of home games against patsies. Actually UCLA is bravely taking on national powerhouse North Carolina Central.
What an awful slate of games. And the only one that is even mildly interesting (UW at MSU, which will be a blowout while MSU is distracted by the Tucker fiasco) is airing on...Peacock?!

I haven't closely followed the story on AB205. What I do know sounds evil - attempting to base "base charges" (meter fees? generation fees?) on a customer's income is just plain wrong to say noting of the fact that it must give the IOUs access to information that properly they should not have.
If the legislature were going to do their job, they'd come up with a better way in which to fund the work necessary to make utilities more resilient in the face of climate change. I know my position isn't popular, but I have felt for a very long time that the IOUs should be broken up because their reason for being is to make a profit. Consequently, they will be highly resistant to performing work that benefits the public but for which there may be little or no profit. Or worse, they will charge outrageous rates to fund the needed work *and* make a profit. The most obvious area in which rate gouging could occur is in safety - undergrounding transmission and distribution lines; building smaller and more localized generation facilities; ensuring the safety of the natural gas distribution system, and on and on.
I have often wondered why IOUs haven't entered the market to install and service rooftop solar. It could be very profitable, and yet they have zero presence in the market. Consequently, they're being pinched by a customer base that is buying less electricity. Which brings us back to AB205, because that's the logical way in which the IOUs will try to ameliorate their losses due to selling less electricity forcing rates up to pay for items like system maintenance and generating facilities.
Maybe I should buy a battery system and bulk up my solar array.

Because of the athletic connotation of Cal and the university brand of Berkeley, the recommendation of the university task force is too merge the two together.

Don't recall hoopla about marketing, branding, if academics could use the Golden Bear logo, script Cal, etc. At that time it made sense to me, UC Berkeley and Cal athletics sat within the name place located by the 94720 zip code, so what's the problem?!?
