Slight pain once in awhile in right knee. I sprained my knee in May and incurred a tendon injury which took three months to heal. X-ray of the knee showed signs of potential early arthritis doc said. Ok now though.
I've mellowed out a lot, I've realized that there's no need (or time) to obsessively follow sports teams, and most importantly I've learned it's important to make others feel good about themselves.
2. Got more comfortable wearing glasses sometimes (not always in contacts)
3. Can't easily sleep through the night anymore
I did also get considerably fatter for a while! But I have successfully gotten myself back down to something close to where I was at 22 (which is still overweight, but not as much).
Personality wise I probably changed more in college than after, kind of developed into my adult personality at Cal, or Cal Berkeley, or whatever we are supposed to call it
More outgoing, when I feel like it. I guess mainly I've learned that I am able to be more patient and more positive, not that I have changed my personality, but that I can work against my more negative impulses in a way that's better for other people and for me also.
When I was in Scotland I got several “god you look a lot like your father” comments from various relatives. I mean I do, but it’s getting more noticeable as I’m in my 50s. I assume they mean that and not that I look like him now that he’s dead
Yikes. No major injuries yet. I continue to play. I have chronic achilles tendonitis (not to mention frequent bouts with plantar fascitis), so it's like a few weeks of playing poorly, followed by an achilles tug and six weeks of recovery, followed by two weeks of playing poorly, then another tug and eight weeks of recovery. An endless cycle where I play less and less and manage pain and injuries for longer and longer stretches. But I still come back for more.
Speaker McCarthy pulls procedural vote as the GOP splinters and the centrists lose enough support to move forward. A government shutdown seems imminent.
Tough end to the season. Oakland dropped their sixth straight game tonight as the club lost to the division rival Mariners by a final of 7-2 in a tough game. That’s now 105 losses for this lost season.
Right-hander Paul Blackburn got the start for the home team tonight and last year’s All-Star was solid for most of the evening. Seattle tagged him for a quick run in the second inning thanks to a couple back-to-back hits but Blackburn limited the damage to just that. For a Seattle team still clawing for a playoff spot, Pauly B came to play.
If you’re reading this recap then you probably already watched the San Francisco Giants lose to the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-4 on Tuesday. I can’t imagine anyone is still invested in this season enough to read about it without at least allowing themselves the joyful daily catharsis that comes from watching a baseball team walk itself out to the pasture. That’s the best part! If you’ve moved on to the Niners season then god bless, but move along, you’re lost. The game, while painful, is the fun part. These recaps are only fun if you’re trying to wallow in the muck of the game you just watched. And even then, “fun” is about as apt a descriptor as “fielder” is when Joc Pederson is thrown onto the grass with a mitt on his right hand.
And if you’re reading this recap then you almost surely have watched the Giants entire season unfold, because why else would you be reading this article, unless you’re a confused soul who came here through a deeply-buried google search because I put “Danny Trejo” in the URL just to see what would happen.
The Dodgers led for no part of this game until they actually won it with a walk-off hit from Max Muncy, driving in Mookie Betts on a two-out single to win it 3-2.
Muncy’s nine-game hitting streak was in danger after going hitless in his first four at-bats. But the game-winner stretched Muncy to 10 and set the Dodgers up for what could be their second straight sweep.
To be honest, I never get that upset about spats between local sports stenographers and the private school semi-pro team. People are interested, but it's not that important. Reports about institutional problems on the degree mill side, or any of the overlaps with public entities however, those I'm interested in and would be annoyed to see stonewalled.
I hadn't realized he was one of the big drivers of limiting contact in practices/player safety programs. A lot of players have him to thank for their better brains.
Reading all the stuff about Bankman and Fried, one can't help but think it's not a stretch to see how their kid turned out this way. And also, once again, Stanford should be extremely embarrassed about the ethics of its faculty.
Camryn Bynum had a career- and game-high 15 tackles in Minnesota's 34-28 road loss at Philadelphia and Jake Curhan played all 72 snaps at right tackle in Seattle's 37-31 overtime win at Detroit to highlight the performances of former California football players in the NFL during Week 2 games that ended Monday.
The duo is among 26 former Cal players currently affiliated with NFL teams including 13 on active rosters, eight on coaching staffs, four on injured reserve lists and one on a practice squad.
Below is how each fared in Week 2 action along with other assorted notes followed by a listing of Week 3 games and the networks televising their next contest.
BERKELEY – The California men's tennis team will send three Golden Bears – Alex Chang, Derrick Chen and Carl Emil Overbeck – to compete in the Battle in the Bay Classic beginning Thursday and ending Sunday at the California Tennis Club in San Francisco. All three Cal juniors will play in the singles draw, and the duo of Overbeck and Chang will also play doubles.
The winner of the singles crown will earn wild-card entry into an upcoming professional tournament.
On this day in 1997 in Memorial Stadium the Golden Bears defeated Oklahoma, 40-36. Cal Wide receiver Bobby Shaw caught 11 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns, including the winning score late in the fourth quarter.

How have you changed since college?
Aside from gaining weight and losing hair, I've become more liberal in my politics and more conservative in my personal conduct.
I've mellowed out a lot, I've realized that there's no need (or time) to obsessively follow sports teams, and most importantly I've learned it's important to make others feel good about themselves.
1. A bit less hair
2. Got more comfortable wearing glasses sometimes (not always in contacts)
3. Can't easily sleep through the night anymore
I did also get considerably fatter for a while! But I have successfully gotten myself back down to something close to where I was at 22 (which is still overweight, but not as much).
More gray hair, wealthier, way more obligations.
Personality wise I probably changed more in college than after, kind of developed into my adult personality at Cal, or Cal Berkeley, or whatever we are supposed to call it
fatter and balder lol

who are you, me
Eh, I guess not sleeping with different women of various raciest almost every night.
(Am I spelling that correctly?)
So you're just sleep with different women of the same race almost every night?
Nope! That "same race" was a complete goof.
I don't know what this means, yet color me interested in learning more.
classic cugey baby
Haha, wrong way around -> sleeping with (in college).
I look a LOT more like my dad. So much so that I'll catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and it startles me.
I look like my dad, but my sister really looks like my dad. Weird, but true.

I look like my dad, too!
I find myself driving by math tutoring centers and getting excited to send my kid there in several years.
I’ve learned to care less about what other people think about me. Sorry, not sorry, peer pressure!
1. My knees hurt all the time
2. I am kinder
3. I am not destitute
Mrs. Slug knows whereof you speak re: knees.
Ha! I read "kinder" wrong; not nice - I read, more like "boss child"
My body no longer allows me to play four hours of basketball each day.
I feel this. Finally gave up the daily game about 5 years ago. Try to play twice a month now, but still feel it for several days afterwards.
My era for daily bball passed by a decade ago. Just one night a week during the rare occasions my body allows.
I've had 3 surgeries due to basketball. Two achilles and one finger.
