Moody balls out as Warriors win vs Lakers to open preseason

https://www.goldenstateofmind.com/warriors-scores-results/103489/moody-balls-out-as-warriors-win-vs-lakers-to-open-preseason

The Warriors beat the Lakers 111-103 to start their 2025-26 preseason, and before you start with the “it’s just preseason” disclaimers, understand what this organization has built. Since 2020-21, Golden State is now 21-4 in exhibition play. That’s an 85% winning percentage in games that supposedly don’t matter, but seem to matter a whole lot to an organization that prides itself on keeping players engaged and ready.

lets hope the regular season is actually good too

Raiders are a joke and Pete Carroll needs to hang it up.

Certainly looks like one last shot at glory that shouldn't have been attempted. Good judgement is more impactful than a desire for success.

Game 1 of the National League Division Series lived up to the hype, with an excellent starting pitching battle between two of the best teams in baseball. Teoscar Hernández atoned for an early misplay on defense with a three-run home run that gave the Dodgers a 5-3 win over the Phillies on Saturday night at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

From cnn.com - Mark Sanchez now facing felony charge in Indianapolis fight that left him hospitalized with stab wounds

From espn.com - Ex-QB Mark Sanchez now facing felony charge for altercation

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story?id=46509859&_slug_=ex-qb-mark-sanchez-now-facing-felony-charge-altercation

Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez is facing a felony battery charge over an altercation between the former NFL quarterback and a 69-year-old truck driver early Saturday in Indianapolis.

Marion County prosecutor Ryan Mears announced the upgraded charge Monday morning, saying Sanchez faces a Level 5 felony charge of battery "involving serious bodily injury." Punishment can range from one to six years in prison, according to Mears.

"One of the challenges you have in a case like this is that you are dealing with individuals who are receiving medical care and that's, obviously, the most important thing, that individuals are treated appropriately," Mears said. "But once we were provided with additional information about the victim's current medical condition, it became clear to us that additional charges needed to be filed."

This story was crazy.

FiatSlug's avatar

No lie.

How drunk do you have to be stabbed by someone three times and wake up the next day and not remember it? And if you are on the verge of being blackout drunk while on the road for work, what does that say about your regular life, when you're not on the road for work?

The mind boggles.

EDITED to correct who was stabbed.

heyalumnigo's avatar

I heard before the driver showed up, he was running sprints in the alley? Really? Not sure what he was on to want to run sprints in the alley.

FiatSlug's avatar

Sounds like coke or crank. But that's based on Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, so what do I know?

dcblue's avatar

I think Sanchez is the one who was stabbed. He was beating and threatening the other guy and the other guy stabbed Sanchez. Your point still stands.

FiatSlug's avatar

I didn't write what I intended. But still... how drunk do you have to be to be stabbed three times and not remember it?

As I alluded to below, there may have been other substances involved. And I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if there were.

Nothing happened on Saturday night

14-0 when I went to bed. As far as I’m concerned, nothing happened after that. I had a bad feeling despite the score when I went to bed.

Apparently, they needed your help and support. (Events did take a decidedly different course after your attention was lost!)

Move along! Nothing to see here!

I'm still pissed off about something from Saturday night unrelated to our football team's performance. During the introduction of the '75 team the on field announcer said that the team beat U$C in the Coliseum. NO!!! That was a 28-14 in Memorial Stadium. I was there and it was the most memorable non Big Game win I've had the privilege to witness. How hard is it to get the basic facts correct in what was such a short spiel?

FiatSlug's avatar

You'd think that having the facts right would be a thing at the premier institution of public higher education. Ugh.

Oski Disciple's avatar

I'm also still pissed off about Justin Wilcox. Sick to death of this guy. More than enough chances and the product on the field remains at best mediocre. Only at Cal could someone like him last into a ninth season.

Are your 2 issues connected? Separate symptoms of the problem?

While AI generation has been an aid to content creation, you still have to proof anything it generates like a hawk with a fine toothed comb! It invents fiction as much as anything.

FiatSlug's avatar

Inventing fiction is fine. Inventing something other than fiction is not so good.
