Football fans generally know about “giving him the business” personal foul call(s). This was originally a penalty call given by Ben Dreith at a Bill/Jets game in 1985.

On Nov 24, 2007 ACC ref Don Cherry paid homage to Dreith by making this call at a NC State vs. Maryland game. The game was a blowout, so he was having a bit of what passes for referee fun.
