Nationals recently hired a new president of baseball operations who played two years at Cal. He just made his first hire, another guy who played for Cal and worked with him for the Red Sox.
If both make it, I think they match up pretty well. Both had great starting pitching, if Woo comes back for the Mariners. I think the Mariners bullpen is much better than the Dodgers. I think the Dodgers are deeper offensively, but the Mariners have people that are stepping up in the playoffs. Jorge Polanco is a beast and is hitting better than any Dodgers in the playoffs. The Big Dumper is hitting the ball, as is J-Rod. I think it would be a good series between the two teams. Lots of low scoring games.
The Dodgers followed their familiar pattern this postseason to perfection, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto providing the excellent start on the mound and the offense doing enough to beat the Brewers 5-1 in Game 2 on Tuesday night in Milwaukee, taking control of the National League Championship Series.
Snell's game could have and should have been a complete game as well. Looks like Dave Roberts finally learned his lesson, at least for a day, after nearly blowing it the night before when he replaced Snell, who was cruising, for his sketchy bullpen. First complete postseason game by a Dodger since 2004.
Ohtani won't go all the way, but might go an inning longer than usual. And any inning that doesn't sink deeper into the Dodger bullpen is a good thing for the Dodgers.

The California women's soccer team is set to embark on its final road trip of the regular season, facing Miami on Thursday and No. 7 Florida State on Sunday. Sophomore goalkeeper Delphine Ayitey-Hammond and sophomore forward Liz Klompaker of the California field hockey team were named ACC Co-Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively, as announced by the conference office Tuesday. The duo led the Golden Bears to one of their most impressive weekends in recent memory, going 2-0 against Boston College and No. 5 Syracuse. Not that I'm a fan of that other schooo, but he seems to be saying the opposite.
“Social media is full of misinformation,” wrote Zakia Rahman, a clinical professor of dermatology at Stanford University School of Medicine, in an email to Undark. “I suspect people on it haven’t been told that sunscreen and sunprotection are a primary preventative measure recommended by dermatologists to stop the onset of skin cancer. It’s analogous to saying seat belts cause car accidents.”
not that i am surprised, today i heard about this AI actress that is getting a lot of attention recently. she has her first role in AI Commissioner (which i havent seen yet)
The poll options remind me of a thing from M*A*S*H. This was an episode set in winter time and there were shortages especially with supplies that can produce heat, so this necessitated more people in fewer tents. A group that included Hawkeye, Trapper, Frank Burns, Henry Blake, Radar, Father Mulcahy, and Max Klinger was in The Swamp. Everyone was settling down to sleep.
BLAKE: I snore, so I'll be over here.
TRAPPER: Oh, no, Henry.
BLAKE: I do. You know I got fan mail from the seismographic guys at Fordham? You know what Lorraine does? She just holds me closer.

BLAKE: Aw, nuts. I gotta go to the sandbox. I'd pay someone $5 to go to the latrine for me.
For the NFL 2026 draft, Mel Kiper Jr. projects Jaylon Tyson’s brother at #8, Mendoza at #3. Spavital had the redshirt freshman buried at QB three, and my insider tells me some in the locker room thought this was wrong, even at that early stage. They were correct. Now he’s vying for a Heisman, potentially a natty.

I agree.
Yamamoto pitches complete game as Dodgers take 2-0 lead in NLCS.
that's 2 games in a row w/ amazing starting pitching for the Dodgers. 8 and 9 innings for the 2 starters. Ohtani pitches game 3 (?)
didnt really feel like Brewers had much of a chance in this one. at least in game 1 they got bases loaded and. winning run was on base in the 9th.

while the outcome seems predictable, the games have been good. never going to complain about great pitching performances.
I'd rather see a 1-0 game.
