back and forth game between Lions and Vikings. Goff lead game winning drive and brand relatively new FG kicker kicks game winning FG as time expires.
Bates, who was plucked from the United Football League after incumbent Michael Badgley got hurt at the beginning of training camp, is 10 for 10 on field goals this season.
49ers lose game 28-18 to Chiefs and apparently Brandon Aiyuk for the season with an ACL injury. Purdy and Mahomes combined for zero passing TDs and 5 INTs.
The list of people who are out is longer than the list of people available for the 49ers. Only because of the ridiculous length of the NFL season is this not already a lost year; there is still time for collapses elsewhere that eclipse SF's. But prospects do not look good.
Reminder. We're ten days out from Halloween. (You'll note that Halloween decorations were put up over the weekend.) As usual everyone is expected to wear a costume. In the afternoon there'll be various activities and games and the straw hat band will drop by. The first floor conference room will be converted into a haunted house. And don't forget the Halloween Party at Hey Alumni Go's house that evening. All are invited. And oh by the way....boo!
Speaking of Halloween week. You kids play nice. I'm in Mexico City most of next week celebrating my silver anniversary. I'll be going to Dia de Los Muertos stuff, watching a luchador match, eating street tacos and Michelin star food, and generally taking in the vibes.
It's a sunnyside-up egg with a bit more oil, tilted in the pan so that you get the whites to create little trails across the pan, and then you just let it cook longer. All the trails on the egg and the edges of the white get all crispy. Crispy egg whites are delicious.
frothy egg white cocktails are a HSB-home-bar specialty.

Referees reverse PI call when Texas fans pummel them and the field with whatever they could lay their hands on. Does not matter, there is still no one other than Alabama that can beat Georgia.
I saw that Texas is threatening to ban any students or others that they can identify as having thrown stuff on the field, a pretty minor consequence for the institution for what could be described as a successful intimidation campaign against the refs except for the fact that the original call on the field was dumb as hell
"the original call on the field was dumb as hell" is a circumstance that is occurring all too frequently, and is bound to have sub-optimal consequences of some sort.
I'd rather see the cause of the problem addressed, not reaction management.
[ACC] VA Tech beat BC 42-21, Duke beat FSU 23-16, Miami beat Lville 52-45, Clemson beat UVA 48-31, GA Tech lost to Notre Dame 31-13, SMU beat Furd 40-10, Wake Forest beat UConn 23-20
[Other former PAC teams} ASU lost to Cincinnati 24-14, Arizona lost to Colorado 34-7, Utah lost to TCU 13-7, USC lost to Maryland 29-28, Oregon State lost to UNLV 33-25, Wazzu beat Hawaii 42-10, UCLA did not lose to Rutgers 35-32, Oregon smashed Purdue 35-0

In the first four days of voting, NC voter turnout was up 2% over record 2020 levels. Higher turnout is good for Democrats because GOP voter turnout in 2020 was 82%, so higher rates within the GOP hit asymptotic resistance. Meanwhile, voter turnout for under 25 years old was 60%. Trump took the state in 2020 by 1.34 percentage points. This state should be a nail biter.
According to University of Florida Election Lab, turnout in the 2020 Presidential Election:
Oklahoma had lowest turnout at 54.43% of eligible voters
Minnesota had highest turnout at 79.21% of eligible voters
Overall US turnout was 65.99%.
Contrast those numbers with the 2016 Presidential Elections -
Hawaii had lowest turnout at 43.19% of eligible voters
Minnesota had highest turnout at 74.67% of eligible voters
Overall US turnout was 60.12%.
One term of Donald Trump was enough to drive up voter turnout by about 5.87%. Consider also that the raw number of votes increased from 138,747,904 (in 2016) to 159,738,337 (in 2020; or about 20.990 million more ballots were cast). Just in terms of actual votes cast, there was about a 15.13% increase in the number of votes.
Where is/what facility is Cal's indoor football practice facility? I've never figured it out, and in looking at Google maps (assuming its reasonably up to date), can't identify any building anywhere near Memorial that is even big enough to contain it. I can find several open fields for Rugby, LaCrosse, & whatever Edwards Stadium is used for, but nothing that looks like a possibility.
More importantly, how does Cal expect to recruit, develop, & retain in competition with such a deficiency? This is a serious question, and casts a new light on why Cal's roster is consistently short on talent and depth.
Where does the acreage exist to put such a facility? It doesn't. And in order to make it exist requires campus administration support. Theoretically, you could convert Maxwell Family Field, but that would almost certainly result in a loss for intramural sports and possibly the Marching Band.
So, where are you likely to place an indoor practice facility on the Cal campus? And whose ox are you going gore to do it?
So, Cal fans would prefer to lose by 2 instead of 1? I saw another post and comments about this, but the likelihood of converting a 2 point conversion is much less than the kick, and far below 30%. Even less likely with the Cal offense, as was demonstrated multiple times fairly recently.
But it wasn't even close to late in the game. This happened in the 3rd quarter! I agree about the late in game modifications to shift to unlikely to succeed strategies because of the impact of limited remaining time, but this was WAY too early to start futilely chasing points. "Late" generally is at least the last half of the 4th quarter, and usually last 3-4 minutes. With proper game management, and especially with the addition of the 2 minute timeout, there is time for a lot of diverse game progressions until very late. I would worry more about how, on 4th & 5, a 3 yard pass play was run.
Play calling should be based on probability of success, not potential benefit of unlikely to succeed gambles. This is a common mistake at the college and high school level, and why NFL coaches are paid to pay attention to probability.
Definitely possible scenario with more than 15 minutes to play is NC State gets a TD & a FG, and then a long end of game FG will beat you instead of it resulting in OT. If that happens, Cal fans are rightly hanging Wilcox in effigy for not maximizing points when he should have.
While 14 is > 13, in football scoring, 13 is much > than 12, and going for 2 at that point is much more likely to result in 12 than 14, as it in fact did.

Indubitably.

Scrambled, as an omelet, as a quiche. Just yesterday, I enjoyed a fried egg on my burger. I feel like my taste for eggs has expanded as I age.
Over easy usually. Fluffy scrambled on occasion. Hard boiled once in a while. Can always have some in a breakfast burrito.
Used in omelets is also ALWAYS a good alternative!
i do not like them, Sam I am!

Cal really should consider this strategy.

Would that work as well if they threw cards instead.

Curious if ACCN changed up its ads much for west vs east--- here in GA during the game we still saw lots of NC political ads.
