Cal defeated University of San Diego, 53-0, in the semifinals before shutting out UCLA, 43-0, in the Cup Championship to clinch the crown.

The Golden Bears (5-3, 2-2 ACC) will host the Cavaliers (7-1, 4-0 ACC) at California Memorial Stadium for the first-ever matchup between the two schools.

The Golden Bears are coming off a memorable trip to Scotland, where they won the St. Andrews Links Collegiate – playing two rounds of stroke play on the Jubilee Course and defeating Princeton 4.5-1.5 in the match play championship on the Old Course. Junior Constance Fouillet set the women's record on the Old Course, carding a spectacular 9-under 63 for the best round any woman has ever played in the 473-year history of the course.

"The incredible thing is that a head coach with a total record of 47-53 (25-45 in conference play) was given a six year contract extension after going 5-7 in 2021, was allowed to continue at Cal after going 4-8 with a loss to 1-11 Colorado in 2022, was allowed to continue at Cal after going 6-7 in 2023, was allowed to continue at Cal after going 6-7 with a loss to 2-10 Florida State in 2024."
