The exit to get onto Highway 24 (5c) is around a bend and sometimes it gets backed up on the bend. Every now and again - someone gets killed from slamming into the back of someone on that bend going 70 mph.
That's the Warren Freeway. Is exit 5C the transition from NB Hwy 13 to EB Hwy 24? You'd think drivers would be more careful especially as it dumps into the approach to the Caldecott Tunnel.
I can attest to this having driven it everyday for 3 months before I married Mrs Slug in 1986. Most motorists drive it like a freakin' bat out of hell. There's a certain video game mentality among the drivers on that highway. It straightens out for a bit once you get to Scotts Valley (southbound). The roadway between Los Gatos and Scotts Valley is a twisty turny mess. I can remember driving it before there was a median barrier (K-rails). It was good for a head-on collision about once every 3 or 4 months, at least.
