Running back Jerry Drew set a Cal record by running for 283 yards on only 11 carries. Drew had TD runs of 67, 59 and 55 yards. Overall the Bear attack out-gained the hapless Beavers, 507-192. It was an excellent tune up for the Big Game which the Bears would win the following Saturday especially as Stanfurd was losing to San Jose State, 19-14. Also on this day Marquette upset UOP, 19-13 in Stockton (yes, in football).
