Oh I think I heard about the castle when I lived there. 2028 is when Cal goes back to Louisville. I thought it would've been later than that. If the ACC doesn't implode by then.

"If the ACC doesn't implode by then."

Exactly. In these turbulent times in college football, anything can happen.

The Hostess Ding Dong - the hockey puck shaped "cake" is called Ding Don in Canada. They all used to be wrapped in foil. They now come in clear plastic.

Loved these when I was a kid. This and the Hohos.

same. Hohos and Ding Dongs were good. the chocolate Hostess cupcakes were my favorite.

in HS you could get a 2-pack of cupcakes for 50 cents from the vending machine and 2 cartons of milk for another 20 cents.

so for under 75 cents i had a pretty excellent afternoon snack.

also at Campo we had a extra long 10 min passing period in the afternoon before the last 2 periods, so this was the optimal time go get such a snack

Boy howdy, those Hostess C-cakes, were a rare treat for me back in the day. My mom would pack my lunch in elementary and JR High. And every April 1st, she included a Hostess C-cake, oblivious to April 1st as far as lunches go, I always bit into the cake to discover, in my mouth, that the cream filling had been replaced with cotton.

She'd freeze them and surgically removed the cream then packed it with cotton, carefully replacing the bottom.

Just curious, do you read the new books with his characters? I eased off when he started with co-writers and quit totally when he died.

I do. Similar to many of the TV shows I watch, I just want to turn off my brain and just be entertained. They're not as good as the original books, but they're not bad.

A heartbreaker today. Cal controlled the ball for most of the game but came up just short, as Virginia got a couple of late goals and held on to defeat the Bears 2-1.

And he did so on what most folks assumed was a running play. It was a play where Allen was in motion (left to right), passing in front of Justin Herbert (shotgun formation), who tossed the ball forward like a shovel pass with Allen catching the ball and gaining something like 8 yards.
