Welcome to the Daily Bear Dump, a Write for California community board where one can talk about pretty much anything, like…
Mariachi Luz del Oro was officially established in the Spring of 2013 as a student-run organization in the UC Berkeley campus and became ASUC sponsored.
This is a UK version of Herb Caen's Apostrophe Posse. And yet, I get it. Boy, do I get it.
It's something less of a personal pet peeve only in that I don't get ripping upset about it, but I am very often removing apostrophes when the plural is intended, not intending to indicate a possessive form of a noun. At work my endeavors in this area have to do with proper job titles and form numbers.
Wears a mariachi jacket he got when he traded his jersey with one of the Mariachi band members playing at Dodgers stadium. Then he forgot to bring nice clothes for their White House visit in 2021 so he wore his mariachi jacket.
LA Dodger star Joe Kelly wore an amazing mariachi jacket to the White House
Everton docked 10 points for past financial rule breaches. You know what would help a financially strapped team? According to the rules, the answer is Relegation.
I don’t get the MLB obsession with Europe. It’s such a saturated market. They should be focusing on Asia, Caribbean, and Central and South America and growing out from there.
Joe Burrow gets hurt in Q2 and the Bengals lose to Ravens 34-20. I haven't watched the Raven in a while, but has Lamar Jackson lost a step? He doesn't seem as elusive.
Cincy will be investigated by the NFL for not reporting Burrow's injury on the injury report. Footage shows him wearing a splint on his right wrist multiple times before the game, and he clearly aggravated the wrist on a non-contact play, yet no mention of this was made. The NFL don't like that.
Losing a star QB in the 2Q to a suspicious non-contact injury on a national Thurs night telecast is gonna draw attention, especially when Al Michaels is pointing out the wrist brace he was wearing in a now-deleted post….
If the Bears win tomorrow (they will) it will be the first Cal Big Game victory I haven't witnessed in person since 1980. (I've only missed five since then (81,'11,'13,'15,'17). They've got to be able to win without me, I'm not going to live forever.
On this day in 1928 in Memorial Stadium the Golden Bears defeated Nevada, 60-0. The win raised the Bears record to 6-1-1 en route to the 1929 Rose Bowl where they would lose to Georgia Tech, 8-7. Moose Garrity led the way for the Nibs Price-coached Bear team, carrying 17 times for 143 yards. Fullback Red Gill contributed 67 yards on on 12 carries and Fred Schlichting rushed nine times for 62 yards. Among the flood of Bear touchdowns were one each on an end run, punt return and interception. Brecky Breakenridge quarterbacked Cal until the reserves took over. The San Francisco Examiner’s account of the game ended as follows: “And the pretty girl in the press-box went home elated — she had seen everything that a game of football game can possibly possess. Maybe a friend of hers was on the team.” ???? Also on this day Carnegie Tech handed Knute Rockne’s Notre Dame team it’s first home loss in 23 years, 27-7.

Cal odds widen from 4.0 to 7.0 and now sit at 6.5. O/U is 55.

So if UM loses to OSU, the Committee can still place them both in the top 4. Perfect!
Maybe BIG is expecting NCAA to dole out harsher sanctions and this was just to get him off the sidelines in the short term.
