Warriors top 5 players don't play but still come close to beating the Heat. The game was close until probably mid-4th when they started making a series of bad TOs. A gritty game and slowed the Heat down but just ran out of steam at the end.

ORLANDO, Fla. - The lone remaining postseason representatives of the California men's tennis team suffered a doubles loss on the first day of the NCAA Doubles Championship on Wednesday at the USTA National Campus.

Senior Tiago Silva and Junior Timofey Stepanov lost to 64th-ranked Karim Al-Amin and Onrej Horak of Middle Tennessee 6-3, 6-4 in the round of 32. With the loss, Cal's fall season comes to an end. Cal will be back in action in January for the spring dual-match season.

The California track & field team has released its 2025-26 schedule, featuring a jam-packed slate of competition once again as it hopes to continue its streak of qualifying Golden Bears to the NCAA Championships.

Cal will send a small contingent to Boston for the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Dec. 6, while its first competition as a full team will be at the Spokane Sports Showcase in Spokane, Washington, on Jan. 16. The Bears will then travel to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational (the first of two meets in Albuquerque, New Mexico) on Jan. 23-24, followed by the first of two Seattle trips (the UW Invitational) on Jan. 30-31.

The fourth-seeded California men's water polo team opens the MPSF Championship this Friday against fifth-seed Johns Hopkins at Avery Aquatics Center in Stanford. First sprint is set for 2:30 p.m. PT on Overnght.

The Golden Bears (14-6, 1-5) will be looking to get back in the win column after dropping their last three contests facing the top three teams in the country in order in a seven-day span. This will be the first meeting between Cal and Johns Hopkins since the Bears earned a lopsided 33-4 victory over the Blue Jays on Sept. 3, 2022.

BERKELEY – The 2025 Newmark Awards were awarded Wednesday to the top academic programs at Cal.

The Newmark Awards, given annually to the teams at Cal with the top cumulative grade-point average in selected categories during the previous academic year, were established in 2007 by Pat and Kent Newmark to honor team academic achievements at Cal and come with a $7,000 stipend that goes into each winning program's operating budget. Kent Newmark competed on the tennis and track & field teams at Cal before graduating in 1960.

Local news files FOI on resignation of Northern Michigan HC Shane Richardson. It wasn't because Richardson was 1-30 and 0-13 in conference at NMU. And it wasn't because the team has won two straight games since his resignation.
