Drive to/from Detroit wasn't fun, but I am grateful for family and good food

Italian food at a nice Italian restaurant. It's nice to not have to cook and clean up.

Looking around casually, most restaurants that were open were quite busy. One exception was a seafood place.

Small, quiet, traditional and wonderful. My son has requested that I make Thanksgiving dinner more often.

Good. Sister and nephew came up from LA. BIL flew to Wisc to be with his mom and stepdad who has health issues. 2nd cousin, or something like that since I can never remember how 2nd cousin and once removed works, and her daughter came for Thanksgiving dinner. No 2 flew back as well.

Currently sitting in Toronto Airport to board a delayed flight to Lisbon. At least 2+ hours delayed. I chose Toronto because I didn't want to deal with Thanksgiving crowds in IAD even though it's Monday.

Quiet. We always host but this year had our “fall family dinner” on Friday because my brother’s kids have dinner on Thurs with their mom. Smoked brisket, green bean casserole (nod to Mr CGs Minnesota roots), wild rice with almonds and cranberries, apple-cranberry crisp and choc-pumpkin brownies with vanilla ice cream. Minimal amount of leftovers for the win.

Quiet. We had dinner on Wednesday night so that Thursday would be relaxed, no furious cleaning up before I left for San Diego on Friday morning.

Any family/personal food dishes that have surprisingly stuck around? There is a "fruit salad" in my family that has a custard+vinegar+cream base (must sit for 24 hours prior to consumption) that has dwindling number of devoted fans. The marshmallows turn to real fluff- can't quit it.

Outsourced smoked turkey for the win- so delicious (from local bbq spot).

Only Murders in the Building (s5). It's okay but is the weakest season so far. May have jumped the shark.

I'm curious to see how they do next year in London (?).

I read a recap of Stranger Things season 4 in preparation for watching season 5. Realized I don't remember the last few episodes so trying to figure out if I missed watching the last 2. Gotta pull up the last few and see if I remember watching them.

there is an Apple store in the Vatican but it is only for the Pope (and Vatican employees)

my wife's iphone died. HAG is bringing a replacement from US. you can buy them here too but does not come w/ US warranty.

beating SMU seemed like a solid way to end the season. and w/ new coach there is some good optimism looking forward, right?

Definitely, so long as the still-eligible nucleus of the team sticks around. I think that there's a solid chance of that happening if either Rolo or Tosh gets hired. Anyone else, it's a crapshoot.

At this point it's looking almost certain it's Tosh, with Rolo maybe also staying on staff.
