Remember when U.S. presidents didn't publicly refer to people from a particular country as "garbage" and didn't call reporters "stupid?" The good ole days.
my recurring question is ... are these norm and rules broken for good or is Trump uniquely good at getting away with it and things will revert to "normal"?
I'm taking the attitude that there isn't very much that will revert to "normal" or even what there had been in the past. Nor do I want it to revert to normal because I now believe that this will be an invitation for future chaos.
What I want is the up and coming generation of Democratic leadership to take the reins of power and move decisively to create a new standard in favor of common sense and equity. That means a move away from established power centers and players because the guardrails have been so horribly maintained by the current establishment; they've actually been neglected, in my view.
The war zone around the Kennedy Center is going up. The World Cup draw is being held there tomorrow and Trump will attend. He is reportedly going to receive the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize. (On a side note the U.S. Institute for Peace which is near the KenCen just added Trump’s name to its building.) Trump will also be there Sunday to host the Kennedy Center Honors. Because of this they did away with almost all performances this week. Separately, on my run this morning I noticed a car with the license plate plate TDS TACO.
Simply put, they are organ meat or offal. Trippa is tripe, the edible lining of the cow's stomach. While tripe is eaten elsewhere, lampredotto is a local specialty for Florence. It is the fourth and final stomach of a cow, generally slow-cooked with tomato, onion, parsley, and celery until it has the texture of tender roast beef. Both are traditionally served on a crunchy bun, often first soaked in the broth and with spicy or green sauce.

Lampredotto is a specific part of the cow's fourth stomach (abomasum), while tripe is a broader term for the first two stomachs (rumen and reticulum).
Had an amazing Brazilian place, Comida de Santo, in Lisbon last night. It is a restaurant that specializes in Bahian cuisine in N Brazil (?). Went with a coworker that is engaged to a Brazilian and has been there many times. The food was so good.
Bahia is a nice region in Brazil to the northwest that is full of colors and a unique culture that is different than mainstream Brazil. i have not been but my parents have been and i have some local art from the area.
the other part of Brazil that is supposed to be amazing is the north coast along the Atlantic. towns like Fortaleza, Natal, Recife.
We shared family style. Shrimp Moqueca (incredible kinda like a curry, Stews with veges, palm oil, and coconut milk), Vatapá (shredded fish and dried shrimps cooked with palm oil, coconut milk, peanuts, and finely ground cashew nuts), Bobó de Camarão (Shrimps sauteed in palm oil and creamy manioc purée with coconut milk), and Picanha (Grilled Brazilian beef).
Sounds great! Never heard of any of those, but I guess Brazil, being a big country, has tons of variety. Of the few Brazilian places I've been to in the US, I like feijoada.

I never thought I'd ever say this, but I'd gladly take Bush 43 over this Turd every day of a four-year term and every day of another four-year term.
Yup.

i am sure it is a little of both

took myself to Florence for a 1-day trip while everyone else was bisy.
the best thing i ate today was "lampredotto" which is the slow-simmered 4th stomach of a cow! and in fact it was excellent.

not exactly sure what tripe is that is different from it. that was heavy featured on the Florentine menus as well.
saw some good art too.

He said that this region is his favorite food and it's very hard to find in Wa and Ca.
I had feijoada in Boston. But supposedly it’s popular all over?
