I'm not sure what "Archive" means in the desktop version of Substack. Unlike the mobile version, there is no ability for desktop administrators/readers to Archive content. I think it's just a differentiation between new/highly-engaged-with content and older/less-engaged. The DBD is different because it does not get email out to subscribers, so it is very lowly engaged with compared to all our other content. W4C readers are very active readers on emailed content.
I pretty much always go straight to the archive and pull up articles that way. I see which ones have been posted since I last checked. But like you said, when it's not on the FP, only the dedicated readers seem to go to the DBD.
Yup. And yet the Cowboys should send a Thank You card to the Seahawks for defeating the Eagles tonight. The Cowboys and Eagles remain tied for the NFC East lead.
Didn’t think Drew Lock had it in him…great catches by DK and JSN.
If he hits Metcalf in stride on the crosser on 2nd & 10 from the 8 he’s gone for a 92-yarder, much like the Geno bomb at Dallas…same play, but accuracy is not a strength of Lock’s. Glad he got the win regardless…and it helps the Niners with the cushion. If they can handle business v. BAL & @ WAS, they can maybe rest some guys in the finale.
I was actually thinking that depending on how the WAS game goes, the starters could rest in the 2nd half. If the 49ers wrap the #1 seed vs. WAS, they could give the 2nd string the majority of snaps against LAR.
Very disturbing case. Read about it through other sources. It looks like Comanche and another person (a woman) lured the victim (another woman) to Las Vegas for a purpose yet to be determined. The victim's body was found in Henderson, NV.
49ers churn out a 45-29 victory over the Cardinals. Brock Purdy is so good - his ability to read, predict, and react so quickly are unbelievable for such a young guy.
This should have been said before, but I haven't seen it:
Last month's situation reminded me of a famous Cal NFL player, who once said he felt his team could run the table, which it needed to do to make the playoffs. And they did. This year's Cal team, as we know, had to run the table as well, to qualify for a bowl game. And they did! (OK 3 games instead of 6, but still unbelievable.) That NFL team didn't win the Super Bowl and this Cal team didn't win its bowl game. Love them anyway.
I'm disappointed in the unluck of participation and the performance on the field of the Indy Bowl. But I choose to look at the big picture here. We made it to a bowl game, which is a step forward from before. I take comfort that - despite all the disadvantages that Cal has - that we have a bright future - a pro-style QB who has developed quickly from 3rd string to 1st, an all Conference RB, a TE who really broke out, an o-line that went from embarrassing to 2nd quartile good, players who broke out on the upside, and offensive play-calling that was noticeably better. Sure, we have some things to fix and fill, but that's why we play the game. While many would disagree, I think Wilcox is the best HC we can get given the circumstances and gives us the best probable chance of doing better in the future rather than burning it all down now. I am hopeful for a winning season next year, visiting new places, and retaining the Axe.
An observation on Fernando during the game Sat. He plays a bit like he's used to being far and away the best athlete/player on the field. So he's trying to make physical plays that he can't quite make against higher level athletes. I'm sure he will learn when and where to make those attempts as he grows into more full time play. Lots of upside still. :)
Wife is a big fan of Hallmark movies. We just watched Round and Round, which is a cute Hanukkah version of Groundhog Day. Not a high budget film, but more interesting twists and turns than the usual Hallmark. Plenty of nerd cred also.
My wife and I are big fans of lead actress Vic Michaelis, who is a regular on Dropout née College Humor. If I have to see a Hallmark movie I'd rather they be in it.

Hi to have that kind of time, skill, talent, and money.
Amazing.

DBD shunted to the archive. What sins have we committed? Why this injustice? Have mercy on us oh holy WFC powers that are.
It's always in the archives but today it's on the front page.

What it means is that DBD is not on the main page. Hence only 17 comments by four different posters at 11:00 AM Pacific time.
When I saw your observation, I made the effort to post more numerously. Quantity over quality! Still only 25 comments as of 1 pm.

The Dallas Cowboys show once again they are absolutely pretenders. Total frauds.

Just brutal.

At least they won, unlike the last time he missed all his 3s.
In Kuminga, Moody, Podz & TJD, you’ve got some young pieces.
How quickly they can get Draymond and Klay off the books will be interesting.

Well said, SGB.
6-6 with a bowl game this year was fantastic.
6-6 with a bowl game next year would be fantastic.
Start stringing together bowl bids and good things will happen.
