got a Fedex package today - one of the suitcases that HAG transported back to US and shipped to us to keep costs down on overseas shipping.

i noticed a little air tag type thing that they had on the bag for tracking. amazing that it can be that cost effective for them to slap a tracking device on everything!

Interesting. The smaller one you have uses bluetooth low energy for use in the US. I'm guessing the tags advertise and readers in the trucks and warehouses and planes, etc, are able to detect the tag number for tracking.

The PDF also says:

Thedeviceshouldberemovedby a courierpriortodelivery andshouldnotimpact any shipping

processes. If you founda FedEx SenseAwareSM device, pleasereturnitto a FedEx courieror any

FedEx Office location.

So I'm guessing the driver forgot to take it off. Hold onto it. I'm curious to see how it works the next time I'm there if there is a way to scan it.

i was going to give it back eventually bit it does not seem like any one is going to come looking for it (except that they can track it all over the place!)

I'm guessing only their internal apps can activate the tracking. I'm guessing instead of continuously advertising, the trackers wake up every so often and listen for a beacon. The trucks, planes, etc beacon for the trackers to wakeup and advertise who they are. So I don't think if you move it they'll know where it moved to.

It can get expensive quickly to try to track down things that go missing or are off schedule. And it can be the difference between keeping and losing customers.

Warriors exact their revenge with win over Suns

https://www.goldenstateofmind.com/warriors-scores-results/106382/warriors-suns-recap-scores-steph-curry

The Golden State Warriors got some revenge for Thursday’s brutal, last-second loss to the Phoenix Suns, recovering on Saturday to win 119-116. While it briefly looked like the Dubs would, once again, have a disastrous end to the game and lose a heart-breaker, they finally emerged victorious, breaking a four-game skid in games decided by fewer than five points.

[FB] One Of A Kind

https://calbears.com/news/2025/12/20/football-one-of-a-kind.aspx

When Belay Brummel arrived in the United States, he did not speak a single word of English. Today, he is graduating from the nation's top public university in only two-and-a-half years.

Brummel is not the only person, or maybe even the only student-athlete, to graduate from UC Berkeley in only two and a half years. But it would be hard to find anyone with a similar story.

More Epstein files released, but then some pulled back. The funny (not funny haha, but funny weird) is that the Internet doesn't forget. The files that they pulled back are all Trump mentions, so the coverup is obvious and comically corrupt.

i am BAAACK from all my European travels. last stop was Stockholm where we spent 4 days w/ all my cousins and their families. i have 5 first cousins there, all w/ 2-3 kids each, so it is easy to have a pretty sizable family reunion

the last night we took a boat to an old historic castle, Vaxholm, and 21 of us had a 7-course buffet dinner with all the traditional fixings. one of young ones actually works there so we were able to get a private room and nice service.

the seven courses were 1) pickled herring, 2) cold fish, basically smoked salmon, 3) cold meats, 4) warm meats, 5) cheese, 6) dessert, 7) candy

the most festive part was drinking schnapps and singing traditional drinking songs along w/ the herring course. reminded me a lot of when we sing the Cal drinking song on DBD road trips.
