My cousin accidentally got me started on Chloe Gong's Foul Lady Fortune.
Seeing how it is set in the early 1900s and seems to be concerned with China-Taiwan politics, I wonder if people like TBB have read it and consider it close to reality? Considering that it's fiction.
It was by accident as she thought she was giving me a book by Celeste Ng.
One's in Forest Grove (a good hour's drive inland), one in Stockton (which is at least on the edge of the far inland part of the bay, but no sight line to anything anywhere close to the ocean.
I have a nephew who went to Humboldt State and I wanted to say that but I didn't know how close to the ocean the campus is. I look it up and I see it's now referred to as Cal Poly Humboldt. I had no idea.
Kansas police stop madman from vaping THC and eating THC paste. He was in the hospital for his final weeks due to cancer. Now he is set to appear in court next week, if he lives that long. The police noted that the vape pen is a fire danger. Thank goodness because we wouldn't want anyone to die a horrible, painful death because of it. Something tells me this is just going to help de-criminalization in Kansas.
Watched Point Break (again) over two nights in an hour each night - and I do think it's a great movie - 90% because of the direction by Kathryn Bigelow - which to me is fucking awesome. Sure there some acting which isn't exactly great, but weirdly, it doesn't actually stop the movie from being great, which is hard to detail - but it's still fucking great.
J6C testimony: Trump had no idea that his schedule was public record and didn't discover it until December 2020. He then changed it so that his schedule said "many calls, many meetings" starting Jan 5, 2021 until the end of his term.
I try to avoid this formulation, but: even during the 2016 campaign when journalists were writing about mysterious infusions of cash in real estate (typically a sign of laundering) and opaque ownership structures passing around liabilities for offsetting losses, it seemed wildly obvious that he was a tax cheat at least, and yet we all had to pretend like maybe there was something else going on.
J6C testimony: Stefan Passantino tampered with Cassidy Hutchinson trying to get her to lie saying she didn't remember anything. Ironically, Passantino was the WH Head of Ethics
As terrible as it was, the crowd was actually pretty small. I remember after seeing the violence break out, I walked up to a nearby office building that has an observation deck on the 31st floor that looks directly down the Mall and the west side of the Capitol. It didn't look any different than any other day. The block right at the Capitol was jammed with people but the rest of the Mall was totally empty.
Wisconsin beats OK State 24-17 in a kinda sloppy game. Wiscy had a 2nd stringer in due to Mertz being in the portal and OSU struggle offensively almost the entire game.
Even if we do pull out a W, then we still have a horrendous record. And it may cool down Fox' hot seat. Knowlton might say we are about to turn the corner, prolonging the misery.
Even if we lose every remaining game on the schedule, which is quite possible, I still have the sinking suspicion that the incompetent Knowlton will let Fox finish the year.

Name a university that is close to an ocean. Bonus for bigger schools or proximity to waves
Coastal Carolina
San Francisco State is about a mile. MIT's about 2, as is Miami.
U Mass Boston is right on the bay
Santa Barbara City College
I had no idea where the University of the Pacific was so I looked up. They weren't any close to the ocean.
Maybe someday with climate change.
hehehehe

University of Victoria, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island.
Univerity of British Columbia, right on the coast in mainland Vancouver.
Univ of Alaska-Fairbanks has some impressive locations along the coast.
University of New England in Biddeford ME is the best east coast example I can recall.
Definitely no bonus points but Point Loma Nazarene has a fantastic ocean view from most of the school.
It has the infinity pool of baseball diamonds.
University of American Samoa law school
Salve Regina University in Newport, RI
Cal-Berkeley.
UCSC
No 3's dorm last year looked over the East field and the ocean. View was amazing.
U. Hawai’i
UCSD
Scripps in particular.
UCSB, UC Santa Cruz, University of Rhode Island, the Naval Academy (I know it's the Chesapeake Bay but I think that's a case of "close enough."
Chesapeake Bay is a great place to sail.

IT IS TERRIBLE!!!!
I liked Chariots of Fire! What are IMDB ratings based on? Their rankings are not as good as Rotten Tomatoes IMO, not really sure what to make of them
IMDB ratings are based on IMDB users.
In my estimation the worst best picture winner of all time.
