Having leftover minestrone - my wife does something clever when she makes this (and other pasta soups) - she cooks the pasta separately, and you put the pasta in the soup bowls, and ladle the soup over it. That way the pasta doesn't turn to mush if you have leftovers, which we generally do.
Did anyone here ever watch the short lived show “Rubicon” on AMC? I liked the one season we got and wish it was renewed.
Another show that I really liked as a kid that got canceled on one of the biggest cliff hangers was “Space: Above and Beyond” on Fox. Does anyone remember this show or watch it?
They certainly do it a lot. I have a friend whose company was acquired by FB and the tech was promptly shut down, they just wanted them out of the way and then FB had the talent locked up for a few years.
Visa is currently embroiled in an anti-trust suit on the same topic, around their pending acquisition of Plaid.
She was dancing to a song... I think it goes “...I want to be a Cowboy. And you can be my Cowgirl”. I can’t remember the rest. But, I bet Scootie has listened to it during her 240,000 minutes of Spotify.
Yeah, that’s it. Good job! It’s from the 80’s. Funny song. Don’t know what “genre” it would be considered. Haven’t heard it in years...But, I can’t believe that it’s part of the 240,000 minutes that you listened to this year...unless Lana Del Rey did a version of it!
My mom's family farmed in Nebraska. When we'd visit during the summer I remember asking what was planted in the field as we drove by. The reply sometimes was milo. I had no idea what they were talking about.

Yep, Christmas shopping and Christmas Day is going to have fewer people this year. I wonder if any economist or think tank has done the economic impact analysis to holiday shopping due to so many dead that is going to be a lot fewer people to buy or will be buying gifts this year.
at the risk of sounding cold hearted, the people lost to COVID are probably a rounding error for seasonal spending in comparison to the number of people unemployed or trying to bounce back from being unemployed
A problem for the much anticipated Gameday game between Liberty and Coastal Carolina arose when Liberty had to cancel due to Covid issues, but BYU had the date open, and will travel to Coastal Carolina. This makes it a rare meeting of unbeaten teams in December. One of them will tumble in the big picture, but one will get a quality win that will make them hard for disregard for a NY6 bowl.
A statement that they can continue to beat up on cream puffs? BYU hasn’t played any good teams this season because the P5 conferences have limited any OOC games.
Through no fault of their own. Hell, Notre Dame sold out and joined a Conference just to play. I mean, I'm no fan of the Cougars, but BYU's been doing what they can...they would beat any team in the P12 this year, tho.
BYU was on a conference and left it because they thought they were going to get an invite to the Big 12. I dislike BYU today, tomorrow and forever. They would not beat any Pac 12 team. Even our flawed Cal team could probably beat them so long as the game doesn’t come down to making an extra point or a short FG.
Inaugural L.A. Bowl in the SoFi dome is almost assuredly done as well...."Michael" Scott and the P12 Idiots probably knew this was coming when they required Conference teams to be .500 or better to qualify for eligibility.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Thursday declined to take up a challenge to the presidential election filed by Trump’s campaign, ruling that under state law, Trump should have sought a hearing first in a lower-level court.
Trump’s campaign could still seek to challenge Biden’s more than 20,000-vote lead in the state in Wisconsin circuit court. But the refusal of the state’s highest court to take up Trump’s petition is a new blow to Trump’s floundering efforts to overturn the election — and a particularly stinging rebuke, given that conservatives hold a 4-to-3 majority on the elected panel.
One conservative member of the panel, Brian Hagedorn, joined the court’s three more liberal members in declining to take the case.
In a concurring opinion, he wrote, “We do well as a judicial body to abide by time-tested judicial norms, even — and maybe especially — in high-profile cases. Following the law governing challenges to election results is no threat to the rule of law.”
Hagedorn wrote that he had determined the court should decline to take the case so the Trump campaign could “promptly exercise” its right to seek action in a lower court.
ICYMI: The DC Attorney General's office is going after the Trump campaign for misuse of campaign funds for overcharging for DC Trump hotel rental. Already deposed Chairman of Inauguration Committee and Ivanka Trump.
If all they did was overcharge themselves for hotel rooms, seems like a lot of hot air. If there's more, and I expect there is, that's a different situation. And one that has a higher potential of putting some of them into jail.

finally watched what we do in the shadows. I laughed out loud multiple times. 17/19 wb
Wait, the movie or the TV show?
tv show. the movie is extremely rare and difficult to nail down on a US streaming service
Available to rent on Prime Video right now for $3.99!
I thought the movie was really good and am stunned at how great the show is. Usually an adaptation to another medium doesn't work this well.
Yes!
Started watching "Halt and Catch Fire", complete hooked after one episode. Continuing On My Block, which is quite good.
Oh this one gets really good in the second season.
Great and underrated AMC series.
Avicii (RIP) had a very nice house

Atypically, I don't care for it. Amazing views though.
The bird streets have such great views.
That is nice, not too over the top.
house is nice, the description sounds like the worst kind of horrid real estate speak.

Yiannopoulos. I hate that guy.
I totally forgot about him.

I think Halley Berry was in that movie too. Not a bad movie. She looked good in it too.
One of her first...she's en Fuego

Exactly. It was a solid number.
That movie had a lot of people in it. Andrew “Dice” Clay gets his nose broken with a football.
That is an underrated 90s action movie.
Agreed! Great one liners too
Crazy opening scene that pulls you right into the movie. Action movie + football?!?! I was sold.
Exactly!! Billy Cole...
Played by...Billy Blanks, the Tae-Bo guy!!
Seems difficult to farm and make any money at.

Lotta dead people today -- 1300 by noon. We are surely headed for a new record (old one set yesterday).

Does that mean that game day will shift to Cal?
Nope. When BYU stepped in, the game went from one of the biggest of the day to an even bigger one.
Gives BYU a chance to make a statement at least.

Well, sounds like you feel the same way about BYU as I do Ohio State...extreme hate! But there's 0 chance that Cal beats BYU...zero.
That said, I'd probably take an undefeated Chanticleers team at home getting 10....

No Pac-12 presence at the Rose Bowl this year either.
no fans either. State, county and city of Pasadena just instituted new restrictions
a few weeks ago I would've said that Cal had a chance to play there and none of us would've been able to go...
does this mean Cal isn't going bowling?
I think Jim Mora may have summed it up perfectly in his famous quote.
“Playoffs? Don’t talk about - playoffs? You kidding me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a game!”
So do I. Just win 1 game.
At this point I’d settle for a tie. At least that would make ESPN.
Probably not, but its probably an unrelated matter.
yes but, an 0-6 Cal team still deserves a bowl bid!
This is the way.
