Tried out the free public “ice” skating at Chase Center. It turned out to be plastic. Didn’t feel at all like ice to me. But how can you complain when it was free, including skate “rental”. Limited to a 30 minute session.
You had to register in advance for tickets. They limited access to 50 skaters per half hour. An unusual system, but every 30 minutes they told everyone to get off the rink and return their skates. Once they did that, which was actually faster than I expected, then they let in the next batch. It was pretty crowded, especially since the rink was only about 1/3 the size of a regular rink. More than 90% seemed like they had never skated before.
Quiet time for the holidays.
calm before the storm?

Sounds like something that would be popular and have long lines. How was that?
