Makoa Sniffen's run-scoring single in the 10th inning gave Saint Mary's an improbable 6-5 win over UCLA on Sunday in Los Angeles, eliminating the top-seeded Bruins from the NCAA baseball tournament.
according to today's impossible to guess clue it is near the Strait of Hormuz!! good luck getting that back.
Sirri Island Airport (IATA: SXI, ICAO: OIBS) (Persian: فرودگاه جزیره سیری) is a regional airport on an island, located near the city of Sirri, Hormozgan Province, in the south of Iran. The airport is used by the Iran Ministry of Petroleum for transferring employees of the Iran Oil Company.
I just want some tshirts and shorts. I'll probably just go to Uniqlo to get a couple pairs of socks, 1 or 2 underwear, and a tshirt. I assume worst case my suitcase comes tomorrow.
I was thinking about this but I think some Lidl's are only food and don't include clothing. I just ended up going to Uniqlo and getting one pair of socks, underwear, and a tshirt. If my suitcase doesn't come today then I may go back and get some more.
I had similar happen to me in Riyadh. The embassy guy who picked me up took me by some huge Walmart type store to get the basics you mention on the way to the hotel. Best part was the embassy sent someone to pickup and deliver when the bags arrived the next day.
The Lyon/Toulouse/Bordeaux is specifically a "where we going to live" trip. We are debating whether we are going to do a stint in Paris because WTF not.
we are going to Peru for a hiking trip and have 2 dinners in Lima. not sure if we should just get normal good food in Lima or some of the well noted restaurants.
Lima is chock-a-block with really great food. Their high-end cuisine is very hoity toity. Just get normal Peruvian food. It's great. And Pisco Sour. You need lots of those.
Geez...bad travel day yesterday. BTV-EWR-FRA-LIN. Was supposed to be MXP but thunderstorms as I was landing cancelled a bunch of flights. We circled south of FRA for at least an hour before landing. Then my 3 hour layover became 2, then flight cancelled, then rebooked to the next morning, then I got Lufthansa to rebook to LIN at 4, which was cancelled, then rebooked at 9 PM and finally made it. Except my bag didn't. UGH
And it's not eligible for compensation because it's weather related.
Today at the hotel in Milan the lunch had some risotto, small sandwiches (1 chicken something and 1 smoke salmon and cream cheese), salad, some sort of dessert. Not a lot for vegeterians.
summit finish in Sestriere following the classic climb of Colle delle Finestre on stage 8.
The Colle delle Finestre climb is 18.5 km (11.5 mi) in length with an average gradient of 9.2%, with the final 8 km (5.0 mi) of the climb on gravel roads.
As the highest climb of the race, the first rider to pass Colle delle Finestre (2,178 metres (7,146 ft)) will be awarded the "Cima Alfonsina Strada" – a prize named after Italian cyclist Alfonsina Strada, who took part in the men's Giro d’Italia in 1924
Giro d' Italia finished up in Rome. as expected Jonas Vingergaard took the overall win. he won 5 mountaintop finishes and won by a pretty healthy margin
becomes just 8th rider (i think) to win all 3 grand tours. even Pogacar hasnt done that yet. we'll see if the strategy of racing Giro make him more competitve for TdF in July.
i went both Sat and Sun. originally i was planning to go on Sun afternoon w/ my younger one. and then a friend said he had an extra ticket for Sat night too.
OAKLAND, CA – Behind a brilliant start from Aidan Risse (W, 1-1) and four home runs, the Oakland Ballers defeated the RedPocket Mobiles 7-1 on Sunday afternoon from Raimondi Park to complete a three-game sweep.
Goal differential or aggregate scoring doesn’t decide a series in baseball. If it did, the Giants 19-6 pile on against the Colorado Rockies would’ve secured them a sweep with some runs to spare.
After suffering a deflating loss on Saturday, the Dodgers bounced back behind a dominant performance from Yoshinobu Yamamoto, taking the finale 9-1 and securing a series win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Gainesville, Ga. – The No. 8 California women's rowing team wrapped up the NCAA Championships at Lake Lanier Olympic Park in Gainesville, Georgia, on Sunday morning finishing in eighth place overall. It marked the 25th straight top 10 finish for the program.

Makoa Sniffen's run-scoring single in the 10th inning gave Saint Mary's an improbable 6-5 win over UCLA on Sunday in Los Angeles, eliminating the top-seeded Bruins from the NCAA baseball tournament.
But St Mary's then loses to Cal Poly SLO in the regional finals.
I don’t like that they put so many CA teams in one regional.
I'm guessing it's to reduce travel.

How did you like Montenegro? Did you visit any other former Yugoslav republics while there?
We did a 9 day guided hiking trip there.
We also visited Croatia for a couple days on each end.
Would love to go back. Great food, beautiful scenery.
Maybe Slovenia next. I hear the mountains there are stunning

I have a good friend who grew up in Toulouse, in case you need any local intel. he lives in Lisbon now w/ Portuguese wife.
I also got invited to stage (i.e. trial chef day) at this small-plates/wine bar in Lyon
