Not sure if they're producing or wrote it. Sounds like a roadtrip movie where a teenage band gives them a demo tape and are invited to open for GD down in LA (?). They go on a road trip to get to the concert.
Food in Vancouver is great. Sept 2027 our testing event will probably be either in Vancouver or Montreal. Looking forward to eating in the Richmond district every night if we do Vancouver. Was in Montreal for 1/2 a day with HSB and family a couple of weeks ago. Really liked it and I've been suggesting Montreal as a location for at least 6+ years.
supposed to be a nice sunny week with warm temps. will be here for 10 days.
next weekend we are staying near Olympic NP and hiking around there a bit.
my plan to goof around in Seattle all next week has been slightly derailed by a work trip to Albuquerque. i love NM, but the timing could have been a little better.
I was there for a couple weeks working when the 1984 Olympics were going on. Absolutely perfect weather every day except for a lightning storm the last night. Had to apologize to a girl from there I used to go out with because I used to bug her about how it was always raining when the plane had a stopover between Anchorage and the Bay Area.
I spent about six hours yesterday learning French. Some of it is bouncing off my dome. Some of it is sinking in. My goal is to think in French, not to parallel translate.
I started using LearnFrenchWithClemence.com because she was literally one of the only courses that start with the very very basics - like the alphabet. After paying the money, I quickly learned that her courses low-key suck. Her courses are "French girl who wrote up two pages on some language concepts on a PDF, recorded a video, and 50 quiz questions (20 of which quiz you on vocabulary that you've never had), and claim that 30 of these will make you fluent." Her style is very visual - using the spelling and direct translation of French to English. Later, I find out that nobody speaks like she is teaching since actual spoken French is very very different than formal classroom French.
I have since switched to Rosetta Stone, which is very audio and image based, not spelled word based and forces you to realize patterns and meaning without spoon feeding them to you. It circles around and around on a concept, force feeding you the concept through repetition via numerous teaching styles and increasing difficulty/recaps.
I will later supplement this with live tutors from Preply.
Later, I will likely enroll in a language immersion program in France, either in Lyon, Paris, or the Loire Valley. Being a student allows me to apply for a student visa to live in France, I believe. By that time, I will angle to get a work permit there through the Long Term Visit Visa, which allows me to work in a kitchen as a cook because chefs are exempt from the national requirement of needing to advertise for an extended period to prove that Frenchmen don't want the job.
No 1 took some classes during grad school and then ended up paying for a service where you get paired up with a native speaker and zoom call for like an hour once or twice a week. He's fluent-ish now. Didn't seem like it took that long.
Veronica Burton and Gabby Williams combined for 50 points in the Valkyries’ 87-81 Commissioner’s Cup victory over the Phoenix Mercury at Chase Center on Tuesday. Burton and Williams each had 25 points to co-lead the Valkyries — Burton tied her season-high and Williams recorded her second consecutive 20-point game for the first time in her career. Burton also paced the Valkyries with eight assists and Williams' clutch steal prevented a game-tying attempt for the Mercury.

The whole Brendan Sorsby/Texas Tech thing is simultaneously messed up and fantastic.

I don't understand. What is Sorsby supposed to have done that has folks in an uproar?
I think this is the player that bet like 70K on football. Some of which was when he was a freshman at IU betting on IU games.
Aha. Now it's clear what the moral equivalency arguments are about: obfuscation.
Gambling is one of those areas where I'm draconian/hard line/however you want to put it.
It's going to be hilarious. Saw something that teams will forfeit or refuse to play. Interesting to see what comes of it all.

i am told that the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island is one of the best backpacking experiences one can have.
sort of on my list. that being said Patagonia and some of the classic treks in the Alps and Corsica are up there too
Anything on Vancouver Island is spectacular. But be prepared to be very wet and very cold, and stay in that condition.

My wife and I use Duolingo. Not the best, but it’s convenient. She’s level 40-something in French. I’m in the 20s on 3 languages. Fluency is over 100.
So what you're saying is you're overall 50% better than she is at foreign languages.
