I always tell this hamburger story. Went to a downtown McDonald's in the evening. They had a sign up saying that since most of their business is for lunch, they don't have their fast service in the evening. Food is cooked to order and you have to wait two minutes. Waited two minutes and it was the best McDonald's burger I ever had.
When McD had the McDLT (hot side hot and cold side cold), I used to ask for no mustard so that they had to make it fresh. I think that was the best sandwich they ever made. And they waited until it was done before getting the fries so the fries were also hot.
There is one near the downtown stadium where the Caps and Wizards play . Haven’t been in a long time. Just looked at their menu and man they are expensive. I rarely eat out so maybe I’m just out of touch.
I haven't had Five Guys in a while but I used to be team Five guys. Their fries are so much better. But I will say that In N Out tastes the same no matter where you get it. And it is now available outside of Ca. They just opened the largest one in Vegas. And also Tennessee when the owner moved there. Their fries are meh, but you can now get them well done.
I guess now I don't really have a preference. The cost of both have gone up significantly over the last few years.
I didn’t watch because didn’t care and don’t have Paramount+. I went by the Lincoln Memorial on my run earlier and there was no evidence of the kickoff rally there Friday night. I also checked out the Reflecting Pool. It is no shade remotely blue. Up close it is very green. A couple teams were working on clearing algae about halfway down.
Not a Knicks fan, but I'm just glad the Thunder didn't win. Was rooting for the Spurs. They had a lead late in each of the games but just don't have the experience to close it out. Is it coaching? The players not executing? While the Knicks have not won it, at least they had Mike Brown who has coached with the Warriors so at least he's had experience winning it.
I keep thinking about Brunson and Steph Curry. Both shorter guys with NBA fathers who led their teams to victory over a Webanyama team in the finals, one in the NBA finals and the other in the Olympic finals.
MISSOULA, MT – Behind a season-high 23 runs on 29 hits, the Oakland Ballers crushed the Missoula Paddleheads 23-11 on Sunday afternoon at Allegiance Field at Ogren Park to win the series four games to two.
Oakland's 23 runs are the second-most scored in a single-game in Ballers franchise history.
It’s easy to forget how good pitching can help produce good hitting. The correlation isn’t always guaranteed, isn’t always direct or obvious, but every once and awhile those two different facets of the game sync for a team, and it becomes perfectly clear how much one needs, or feeds, off the other.
The Dodgers (45-27) went into the sixth inning Sunday afternoon in the Windy City with a 1-0 lead and a cruising Emmet Sheehan. The White Sox (38-32) changed the trajectory of the game and series outcome with a three-home run offensive explosion against Sheehan and Jack Dreyer in the sixth inning.

Dessert Southwest
I am always in favor of dessert. What is Dessert Southwest?
Just got to Albuquerque for a few days for work. Looking forward to the good food. Maybe a short hike or nice drive towards Santa fe if I get time.
OK Let's jump start the DBD with the classic: In N Out vs Five Guys.
Or suggest another argument

What about Fuddruckers?
I almost forgot about this place. Ran into one here in NM
Used to love this place in HS

Love Fuddruckers. The one in Concord closed down I think. Or maybe the one in Fairfield closed down and the Concord one is left.
I remember there used to be a similar one, but forgot what it was called. There was one at the Sycamore Valley exit on 680 in San Ramon.
Flakey Jakes!! Love google.
Blondies vs Fat Slice
I may have had far slice once or twice. Blondes was on speed dial in my phone at Cal
I definitely had Blondies way more than Fat Slice. I did take my kids to both in the last 2000s and they preferred Fat Slice over Blondies.
I was a Blondies guy. Liked their pizzas back in the late 80s early 90s. Tasted good and was cheap. Fat slice also was cheap and the pizzas were fine.
In N Out vs Five Guys
I prefer in n out but lining on East Coast I only get 5 guys on a regular basis.

@how many watched the UFC fights in front of the White House??@
I do wonder how the streaming audience did.

I saw a tweet that MAGA was blaming the left. And then a reply that Yes, the left invented Synthesis.

Happy for NYC that the Knicks won. Too bad I am in Seattle for a couple weeks missing all the fun back home
We were at a graduation party during game 5 and not keeping track of the game.
A few women at some point say "Knicks in 5. Anyone excited?"
We watched the last minutes of the game on my phone
Unfortunate that the celebrations got violent. I kinda don't get it.
