I sat on the tarmac in NYC for 3 hours and barely made it out under the regulated time when one has to come back into the terminal. It took me 9 hours to take a 1 hour flight from RDU to New York and 10 hours to fly back. Less than ideal.

In other words I would love to discover a Bay Area eatery that has excellent pastrami. I mean, a ver different take on pastrami is Togo’s #9, a standby decent sandwich, nice and succulent; it was great at the one on Bancroft in the eighties; but it’s at a ma and pa type place that by now I should have settled on a good old fashioned prime quality pastrami. So far I haven’t found one.

i remember telling my wife this weekend that i had never had a Subway sandwich until i moved to Indiana for grad school at 21. i had only ever had Togo's and thought that Subway was a very bad replica.

i prefer this to NYC pastrami. it is a little more tender and juicy. there are plenty of places to get it. my favorite is Schwartz's Deli.
