The Giants could have fined the offending pitchers a day's pay (based on their contracts) plus an amount for defacing their uniform. Every player, after all, had the option not to wear the rainbow cap; they could have worn the standard SF cap.
That would have been better than remaining silent and giving the appearance of passive acceptance.
Having said all that, it seems to me that there are multiple angles to this, especially team ownership which includes noted GOP support from Charles Johnson and his son, Greg.
The Dodgers could only score four runs on Wednesday, but it was enough to finish off a sweep of the Minnesota Twins.
