How much time do you have? Beside monuments…My dad just had to see the Mint. My aunt said the Spy museum. I still need to see the Holocaust museum and the African American museum.
Across the river, I’ve taken my family to the historical farm, where people act like it’s the 1700s, more or less.
Sat I'm on my own and then with No 3 and his GF on Sun. The only thing I was going to do was have lunch at the place in the National Museum of the American Indian, and then the Air and Space Museum. And then play it by ear. Then find a place to have dinner, maybe near Dupont Circle or the restaurants along 18th st NW.
Not sure what we're doing on Sun other than heading into DC and grabbing dinner with my cousin's kid.
If you haven't already been through the African American and Native American museums, now would be a good time, before many of the displays get yanked or altered (if that hasn't already been happening).
Oh those are good ideas as well. I was thinking of doing the NA museum since I'm eating there anyways. I'll check out the African American one as well. Good ideas
Be prepared to do some extra walking. I haven’t been down, but there is fencing all over the place. Between the Washington Monument and the Capitol is the Great American County Fair and most of that area is surrounded by fencing so you can’t just cut across the Mall as normal. They’ve also started fencing near the Reflecting Pool but as of yesterday morning I was still able to get around the monuments pretty easily.
Travel
I'm leaving in 50 minutes. Four of the next eight weeks will be spent in France and Italy. Ciao, mes amis.

DC
Only been to DC once and had limited time there, but the Air & Space Museum really was awesome.

Make Algae Great Again
hmm..ok. Maybe I can find where things are blocked off online. Thanks for the info. Sounds like a nightmare weekend to visit.
night walk of the monuments
oh...that sounds like a cool idea. Maybe Sat night after dinner.
I used to go a lot more often when I worked for a company based in College Park
Found some excellent food and drink
Copa Mundial
Turkey scores as time expires to beat US. Impressive.
US also fairly impressive for a team that played with mostly their backups on the field. Nearly pulled off a draw.
