Mitch McConnell is ... only mostly dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. With all dead, well, with all dead there's usually only one thing you can do... Go through his clothes and look for loose change!
Power must be one hell of a drug. All these Senators just steadfastly uninterested in retiring to a lake house like I would, instead choosing to die in office. I can only imagine liking my job that much.
or maybe like Schrodinger's cat. half alive and half dead at the same time. for context, i am at an entire week of internal company meetings about quantum computing. much talk of qubits and other quirky stuff.
Disagree: Schrodinger's cat is simultaneously dead and alive, not half dead and half alive. The observer doesn't know if Schrodinger's Cat is dead or alive until the box is opened.
Mitch McConnell is the human equivalent of Schrodinger's Cat. Does that make him Trump's Mitch? Asking for a nation.

I think I used the answer from the Worldle as my first guess. Once I realized the continent and got adjacent, I realized I couldn't remember any of the countries next to it.
I should have done the last 3 words in 5, 6, 7. Was thinking of 1 word but transposed 2 letters when I typed it on. Of course the word I was thinking of was the right one.
Also a Sea of Greens for yesterday. But it took me 6 turns to solve. And my skill score was higher for 6 guesses yesterday than it was for solving in 3 guesses today. Go figure.
Right-handed pitcher Oliver de la Torre and catcher Hideki Prather of the California baseball team were selected Sunday, the second day of the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft. The Toronto Blue Jays drafted de la Torre in the 15th round with the 462nd pick and Prather went to the Minnesota Twins in the 17th round with the 497th pick.
Right-handed pitcher Gavin Eddy of the California baseball team became the first Golden Bear to be selected in the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft when he was taken by the Houston Astros in the 5th round with the 153rd pick Sunday.
Eddy becomes the Bears' 242nd MLB selection as well as the fourth ever taken by the Astros and the first since Korey Lee (2019). There have now been 28 Cal student-athletes drafted under head coach Mike Neu and Cal has had at least one selection in 58 of the 62 drafts, which began in 1965.
The Valkyries won their seventh consecutive game and 40th in franchise history, beating the Connecticut Sun 79-64 at Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday. Golden State notched its 40th win in just 68 games, becoming the fastest expansion team in WNBA history to achieve that feat. The Valkyries were without All-Star starter Gabby Williams, but Veronica Burton stepped up in her absence, with a game-high 17 points and a game-high six assists. Janelle Salaün led all reserves with 16 points, seven rebounds, three assists and was a game-high plus-18 in 27 minutes. The Valks are in a three-way tie atop the WNBA standings with the Las Vegas Aces and Minnesota Lynx.
The silver lining for the Dodgers on Sunday is that they did not lose in lopsided fashion. But they did fall to the Diamondbacks for a third consecutive day, this time a more conventional 5-3 win for Arizona that capped off a series sweep and a deflating final week before the All-Star break.
My dad has been saying for years that tennis should just allow one serve. As we were watching the gentlemen's Wimbledon final, I became a convert.
Sinner and Zverev were both incredible, but they just held serve for the first 2.5 hours of the match. As a result, only the tiebreakers held drama. If they didn't try to serve 135 MPH with every first serve, they'd actually have rallies, and rallies are the best part of tennis!
The game's founders couldn't possibly have envisioned 6'6" dudes with modern rackets blasting serves at that speed. The equipment technology alone makes the two-serve rule ridiculous. A modernization of the rule would make tennis so much better.

the four top ranked teams in the world are the 4 semi-finalists
Ending up with the four top ranked teams in the world kinda makes the tournament expansion seem even more ridiculous, doesn't it?

In the WC, is that like 4 No 1's making it to the Final Four? Super unlikely.

Dodgers swept by Diamondbacks in lackluster weekend
https://www.truebluela.com/dodgers-scores-standings/119886/tim-tawa-shohei-ohtani-diamondbacks
The silver lining for the Dodgers on Sunday is that they did not lose in lopsided fashion. But they did fall to the Diamondbacks for a third consecutive day, this time a more conventional 5-3 win for Arizona that capped off a series sweep and a deflating final week before the All-Star break.
Such uninspired performances getting swept by the Dbacks. The Dodgers had 25% of their errors for the season over the last 3 games.
Czech woman (Noskova) beats another Czech woman (Muchova) for Wimbledon title.
Sinner beat Zverev in men's final. wins 5th slam and back-to-back at Wimbledon
Go back to wood rackets or aluminum like the one Connors used for so many years.
We'd also see more serve and volley.
Is this similar to the "starting pitchers should be required to throw 6+ innings" so that they don't go max effort for all pitches?
Also reminds me of the John Isner and Mahut US Open where the 5th set went 70-68 because neither person could return a serve.
You’re very early! ;-)
It’s Back to the Future!
