After the 13th state has refused Trump request for voter rolls, he is now alleging he needs to tamper with them because of... [checks notes]... JINA.

Seems like someone on here is a Miata person. The local all news radio station has a weekly car review and today’s is of a Miata.

Sardinia is all about pasta. I went to a lot of different grocery stores there and they don't stock all-purpose flour. No bread flour. Perhaps some cake flour pre-mixed with baking powder. No yeast. No baking soda or powder available. But there are tons of 00 and semolina flours of all sorts. Since it's a pasta region, they don't really excel at making bread. And since they are a tourist area, they sell a lot of pizza based upon Sicilian style (rectangular, foccaccia-based). However, they suck at making bread. Like, they make it fast and fluffy, no slow fermentation a la focaccia. No chewy crusts. So even their best pizza is zero flavor, fluffy wonderbread-like with no texture. Stick to pasta there.

Since Sardinians don't traditionally use chemical or yeast leavener, they usually serve guttiau (aka pane carasau) before meals. Think: flour + water that is rolled very, very thin and then baked or dry-fried to make very thin crackers. The upside is that you don't fill up on bread, because it takes a bushel-full to even equal a single dinner roll.

STUDIO GURSHA in some cool part of town in Tel Aviv

really fantastic Afro-fusion food by noted local chef. sort of like tapas style elevated Ethiopian food.

some times you would get a small bite of beef tartare on a little circle of injera bread. all super good

I’m not a big soccer person but it’s so hot here that I stayed inside and watched the game. Pretty compelling stuff. Both semifinals were good.

TDF has taken a back seat to the World Cup but it looks like Pogacar and his team have things well under control.

napabear's avatar

Unless something crazy happens, Pogacar seems to have ended it as a contest on stage 6 with about 14 stages to go. That is dominance. Well, we see what happens

HeyStudentsBears's avatar

Indeed. I still kind watching. A little drama and suspense would be nice.

Curious to see how two back to back finishes at the alpe d huez goes

Valkyries Clinch Undefeated Road Trip Beating Fever (88-75)

https://valkyries.wnba.com/news/gameday-recap-20260715

The Golden State Valkyries extended the WNBA’s longest active winning streak to eight games and capped a 5-0 road trip with an 88-75 win over the Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday. The Valkyries opened the game on an 8-0 run, as All-Star starter Gabby Williams, who returned to the lineup after dealing with a back contusion, scored the first basket of the game and Cecilia Zandalasini drained a pair of 3-pointers. They quickly earned a double-digit advantage, which they took into halftime before the Fever started chipping away. Indiana eventually claimed their first lead of the game in the third quarter on free throws by Sophie Cunningham, but Golden State restored order with a 17-4 spurt. The Valkyries particularly leaned on their bench unit to build their lead back up as they outscored the Fever’s reserves by 22 points, 43-21. The Valkyries had six scorers in double figures and half of them were off the bench. Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever’s All-Star trio with 20 points and Aliyah Boston added 15 points and seven rebounds. Caitlin Clark was held to just 13 points on 14 shots, including 1-for-8 from deep.
