I have at least one Opus the Penguin plush doll. If I’d known about the house I would have made a pilgrimage since I have two nephews who went to school at Iowa.
I also don't really like to gamble because I don't want to waste money.
The few times I've been pretty lucky. Did 21 on my bachelor party the first time. My friend taught me a few simple rules and originally I blew the $100 he gave me but made back his 100 and also got up about 100. The other times I played with a friend or 2 and won maybe 100-200. It was fun playing with friends but I'd never do it alone. Also at my bachelor party another friend and I sat down to do video poker. We each started with maybe $30. We were down to my 25 cents and his 50. We combined that and ended up winning $50. Super lucky.
Last winter No 3 and I went to south Lake Tahoe to ski and we walked through a casino and he wanted to try slots a little bit. So we sat down at one in Caesars. I put in $10 and on the first pull I won 80. That was it. Took my money and ran. He did a couple pulls and lost and that was it.
I've been a handful of times. And I don't see any reason for going back. Last time was with No 3 for a tournament with his club baseball team. I guess I'd only go if I had to for work.
I have morning calls, either at 6 or 7, on each day except for Fri. At some point after 8 I usually get my granola, chia pudding, and fruit bowl and eat when I have nothing I need to talk about. Then maybe a small piece of bread or maybe cheese and crackers. Just depends.
wake up 630-700a pretty naturally unless i had a particularly late night. and even them i tend to be awake at that hour
aside from Wordle and setup WFC for the day, i try to stay off electronics for a while.
i'll have coffee and first breakfast - which is something sweet like a pastry or scone. ideally, i'll read for 15-20 min - whatever book i am currently reading.
The California men's soccer team is on the road to take on ACC foe No. 13 Notre Dame on Saturday. The Golden Bears enter the week with a 3-3-3 mark after shutting out Pacific on the road by a score of 3-0.
Tarik Glenn brings a lengthy list of credentials into his job as the Executive Director of Cal's Athletic Study Center.
A four-year letterman at Cal who began his college career as a defensive lineman before switching to offensive tackle, Glenn was a first-round pick by the Indianapolis Colts in the 1997 NFL draft.
I met him and spoke to him for about 10-15 min at a thing HSB took me to. Ron Rivera and others were there including Tarek Glenn and Steve Levy. Tarik is a big guy. Super easy to talk with.
The No. 4 California men's water polo team is headed south to open its MPSF schedule this weekend facing No. 3 USC on Saturday and No. 1 UCLA on Sunday in Los Angeles. The Golden Bears fell to both top-ranked teams by a single goal at the Overnght MPSF Invitational just two weeks ago in Stanford.
Braves beat the Phillies and will meet the Dodgers starting Sat.
I'm going to watch the first 30 min of the Cal game and then switch to the Dodgers game. I feel like the first 30 min will tell me if I should put the Cal game on the other TV or not.

I'm going through The Pitt S2 (HBO Max). So far it's really really good. I'm through about the first 12 hours of 15. ER on steroids.
Hacks (Hulu) Wife and I watched 1.3 seasons of it. I don't get it. People raved about it to us. Multiple people. Wasn't for me.

I'm good to never go back. It's the antithesis of what I like. Busy, expensive, garish, uncomfortable.
I also don't really like to gamble because I don't want to waste money.

Wake up 6-7. Coffee. Hang with the cat. Gym four days a week.
