What is this idiot talking about? It's all virtual.

Walking to the post office this afternoon I saw a young guy carrying a couple MAGA hats. The Trump DC HQ is just a couple blocks from me and it took all my discipline to not start yelling and screaming at the guy.

@realDonaldTrump

To get into the Democrat National Convention, you must have an ID card with a picture...Yet the Democrats refuse to do this when it come to your very important VOTE! Gee, I wonder WHY???

Someone I know in Ohio posted the Goodyear logo, but it had been changed to "Goodbye." I commented, "So you're supporting a boycott of an American company that employs so many of your fellow Ohioans?"

My comment no longer shows up, but Fbook is saying 4 comments when only 2 show up, and also Fbook is notoriously glitchy, so it's unclear whether he deleted my comment or not 😂

Meanwhile, a Mormon friend I know from high school (who used to be more conservative) seems to be posting more and more progressive things and it's kind of fun to see.

I also have a friend who was a member of the Republican club in high school, who recently reposted Michele Obama’s DNC address.

I saw a reddit post that the top 4 competitors are all non-US companies. Goodyear and Cooper are the only US manufacturers of tires. Also the president's limo uses Goodyear Tires.

Early on in the Trump age, Hannity gained weight and vaped incessantly, which some members of his inner circle blamed on Trump-related stress. “If you were hearing what I’m hearing, you’d be vaping too,” Hannity told a colleague.

I just fucking LOVE this story. Arrested by the postal service on the ocean off the coast of Connecticut, while on a yacht owned by a Chinese billionaire also wanted for all sorts of nefarious shit. I really hope the USPS boat was one they got for cheap from the department of defense.

I don’t understand conservatism as a movement at all. I get they want small government but outside of that, they basically they don’t like things to change and are not real fans of progress.

I've had 2. Achilles about 12-13 years ago. Broken finger about 10 years ago playing basketball. The little tab that the tendon attaches to at the end of the last bone on the little finger broke off. They inserted a thin rod to hold it together while it healed for 4(?) weeks.

i need to look into the surgery that will remove the top metal plate now that it has healed. hoping the recovery will be quick and relatively painless.

Train/condition yourself to be a back sleeper. Your shoulders will thank you for it. This was the advice I got from my physical therapist after a partially torn rotator cuff. He also suggested propping my self up on the edge of a pillow to give the illusion of sleeping on my side.

I do use a pillow to mitigate it, but yeah... I do sleep on my back some but should probably try to focus being more of a back sleeper.

I sleep on my stomach and extend 1 arm almost straight up and put the side of my head on my shoulder. My shoulder sometimes does ache when I wake up. Though I do find that at some point I roll onto my back because I wake up on my back. It's just harder for me to fall asleep on my back.

about shoulder surgery, mister CG sez: if you can still reach your wallet, brush your teeth, comb your hair - don't do it. Opt for physical therapy and stick to it.

After years of wear and tear mister CG's shoulder finally blew out due to a fall while skiing. (adding insult to injury a voice from the lift above was heard to say "ooh it's an old guy...") He underwent a complete rebuild of the shoulder girdle. His advice: do every bit of the pre and post-op physical therapy they prescribe, be patient, don't overdo it.

Best wishes for a safe and complete recovery!

"do every bit of the pre and post-op physical therapy"

YES!

My mom was having knee issues and went to the doctor, but somehow, they decided that fixing her rotator cuff was more urgent. The PT is so important! In retrospect, it was probably related to her work at Macy's, and we really should have thought to look into that.

"Analyzing the infection rates in the Pac-12’s six states, from Oregon’s “very low” to Arizona’s “terrible,” Swartzberg said, the panel concluded that if going by the desired metric of fewer than 10 positive cases per 100,000, the only Pac-12 game which could occur would be Oregon vs. Oregon State."

Interesting article.

California is wild:

- Stay at home to avoid Covid-19

- Stay at home to avoid the poor air quality from fires

... But don't go crazy at home so that we don't need to shut off the power

In SF today it's clear and doesn't smell of campfire. Yesterday it was orange and I was ready to bust out some s'mores. We do have a good little (chilly) breeze today which seems to have cleared things out, but from the look of the maps, it's literally the only place along the coast that's not firmly engulfed in smoke.

The marine layer is supposed to come roaring back in tonight, so that should (hopefully) help with the air quality. It will also bring more wind, though, which probably won't help with fire containment.

I dunno man, climate change sucks.

No 3 was playing for a travel ball team based out of Vacaville and initially they had tournaments in Az, Fl, Ga until Covid 19 wiped them all out. Initially we told them he wouldn't go to Utah this last weekend with them due to it being worse there but he also tweaked his hip so he wouldn't go anyways. A couple of weeks ago we decided he was just going to stop playing with them. I talked with one of the coaches today and one of the kids exhibited all the symptoms a couple of days after they got back so now they're all quarantining for 10 days. Looks like we made the right decision.
