This mess of a season is really starting to impact recruiting as well. Interesting article from The Athletic (https://theathletic.com/3709278/2022/10/20/pac-12-football-recruitment/) which describes Cal's current recruiting as struggling. As if to rub salt in the wound, it also mentioned that RJ Jones, the four star safety who de-committed from Cal earlier this year, signed with UCLA. FYI, the QB who beat us last week (Shrout) was also a Cal de-commit. Football gods, why do you hate us so?
Need some signature wins again. Maybe Washington and Oregon. Stanford is a toss up. Interesting that Jeremiah Earby is a midseason freshman All American while Ott is not.
Not really a surprise. Aside from his one monster game against Arizona, he has been stuffed at the line of scrimmage so far this season. Wilcox and co. really need to figure out how to get him involved so he can have some breakout games or he will be gone next season.
That is a low blow.......However, we do have lots of Nobel Prize winners and so does Poland (Madam Curie, Paul Dirac, Lech Walensa to name a few). Maybe we can turn that into some kind of rallying cry to fill Memorial and boost recruiting! Nobel Prize! Nobel Prize! Nobel Prize!
There is a real possibility that Cal will play notably better at home this week than they did in Boulder, closer to their seasonal average on offense, and still lose by a larger margin, or earlier, i.e. before overtime, to Washington.
Will be surprised if this game is close in the 4Q - Vegas doesn’t really have a great read on Cal. Penix will score points, and Cal really can’t….feels like that spread should be double digits in an empty Memorial.
Just call us the Warsaw Pac.
Best lede ever.
I mean, given the circumstances.

This was fun to read. Thanks. Shame to denigrate poor Poland with associations with Cal Football.

The math is just bad.
They have a great read on the bettors who don’t have a great read on Cal.
The average bettor doesn’t know about Cal’s aversion to scoring points.
