I keep saying "In Wilcox I trust" because his string of coaching hires recently have been top notch. I don't know much is his increase budget, which was quite recent, or better understanding of what it will take to win the Pac12. In any case, Go Bears!
His coaching hires have been very impressive from the beginning. Getting two former HCs in TDR and Beau Baldwin was a big news. And he also hired Azzinaro, Tuioti, and Tui.
Heyward appeared to be a good hire too, with his track record of recruiting coming in. Too bad he ended up being quiet in that regard while he was here.
Yeah that was big too. Oregon co-DC to Cal position coach is unheard of. Heyward must have a big trust in Wilcox and Sirmon. He follows them everywhere. It's actually surprising he didn't come to Cal sooner considering they are inseparable.
Seems like a great hire. He must be a supreme athlete played in the League and while in high school lettered in volleyball. I suspect that since he played for so many different teams, in the League, that he experienced a lot of different coaches which hopefully molded and refined his own coaching style.
Nice that Wilcox has an updated Rolodex and completed this hire in a timely fashion. We have recruiting events planned and Spring ball right around the corner. Well done Coach Wilcox.
Yesterday's press release said So'oto was leaving for family related reasons, and today he denies it himself. Could it be that Colorado worded the press release so that they don't look incompetent? or was it to protect So'oto from criticism for bolting?
Numerous guys not named So'oto. Coach W scooped us all! Went for youth, personality and coaching potential!
I have Coach's autograph on the bill of my Cal cap. When folks up here in Oregon ask who the signature is, I say "the guy who DIDN'T take the UO job......" : )
Yes, VERY MUCH!!! Proven young recruiter to counter To$h et al. This is the kind of hire where I normally see another team hire them and ask "Why not Cal?" This time, Cal!

Nice hire. Now let's have an awesome 2022 season.

Go Bears.
Let's bring in more Uces to Cal! Great Hire!
Uce is slang for Uso...meaning brother (man to man) or sister (woman to woman) in Samoan but is popular with many Poly/Pacific Islanders.

He didn't go to Utah so it's not a misspelling for Utes.

You read it somewhere? It's on this article!!
if you read this article, you wouldve read it in this article: https://writeforcalifornia.com/p/former-usc-and-colorado-dl-coach/
I think I read that in the comments section of an article somewhere.
Oh stop.....you're killing me......
No previous Cal connection, or, as far as I can see/know, a Wilcox connection, but likely a great hire. Well done, Coach W!!!!!
"After coaching at Virginia and USC, Vic spent only 2 months on the Colorado staff only to return to Cal."
Did he coach at Cal as GA or some role? Or is he coming back to the state of California?
He's back to the state of California. Good find
When I saw that he left CU staff yesterday, I had hoped he left to come to Cal. This is great. Was he discussed in the paid article?
doubt it
Oh okay. Who were the candidates covered? I only could see Bob Gregory.

Tosh is old now. Hope he lost his recruiting power.
If Tosh has had chicken pox, the shingles virus is already growing in his body...just saying...
Now that sure would be a shame...
My recollection is they mentioned that when UO hired him..... Or maybe it was just in my recurring Tosh nightmare.......
40 is oooold.
Easy now........
I hope he lost his dick.
Did he check the coffee cup?
Did he ever have one?
He probably drank coffee at some point in his life.
