The injury bug has hit ASU hard at QB and OL. ASU turned the ball over 8 (5 picks and 3 fumbles times on Saturday against Fresno State, which Fresno State won 29-0. The score is actually not as bad when considering they turned it over 8 times. Tedford settled for 5 FGs. All that to say, I don’t think ASU will be getting super healthy before our game so this is a game we should win.
Take ASU and Stanford out of the equation, and I don't see any upsets over the other 7 nationally ranked teams on Cal's schedule. You can take ANY of those seven teams right now and make the case they could have outright won the conference in 2019. The last time Cal has experienced this kind of bowl-less futility was under Tom Holmoe.
Prior to kickoff in Denton, my slim path to a bowl game for this season was on the off-chance that maybe all the Wilcox apologists were right and all he really needed was a competent OC/OL coach…3-0 in non-Con, and a typical Wilcox 3-6 in the P12, with wins over ASU, ‘Furd, and 1 upset, (either OSU or Wazzu at home being most likely), would get it done.
After gagging Auburn and struggling with Idaho, it’s clear not much has actually changed, because Wilcox, and 4-8 for the second straight year is the most likely outcome.
I hope the slow start against Idaho wasn't based on time of day. Another hour would put us halfway into the third quarter before the Bears come out of hibernation.
Noon start means another good opportunity for people to bring the kiddies to the game. When I was growing up (and dinosaurs roamed the earth) there were myriad children's groups (cub scouts, after school programs, church youth groups) that came to games and tickets for children were just a couple of bucks. Harder to get the young groups out when game times aren't announced before the season.

Ah, good ol’ Jeff Tedford. Has his team making field goals and everything.
Best coach in numbers won in Cal History.
If this team has any designs on that elusive Sun Bowl bid as a member of the Pac 12, this absolutely NEEDS to be a win.

I agree.

The time didn't have anything to do with it. Cal just came out flat and finally decided to assert their size and speed. We still need an accurate QB

I remember when every game was at 12:30.
Just announced Colorado USC for Big Noon kick so now I genuinely have a conflict of interest and what to watch. 2 kickoff times that require mimosas
The Colorado-USC game is noon - Eastern time. That's 10AM in Colorado.
So who got banned? I may want to be banned, depending upon the reason of this person’s banishment.
one issue is im usually in the press box for cal home games haha, i dont think I'd make the game with these kickoff times 🤣
