Golden Nuggets: BREAKING FLAVORTOWN NEWS
I'm Guy Fioski, and we're rolling out, looking for California's greatest Golden, Nuggets, and Bears.
Hello and welcome to Golden Nuggets! In this weekly write up, we try our best to cover all things Cal, Berkeley, Bearkeley, UC Berkeley, University of Cal Berkeley, University of Berkeley at Cal, BerkeleyInspire, and California Berkeley University that happened more or less in the last week! Let’s dig in!
Holy, Moly Stromboli!
And now some news out of Flavortown. This past week, ‘Guy’s Grocery Games’ wrapped up its Greatest of All Time GOAT Tournament (or the GOAT GOAT Tournagoat) featuring previous winners from the show including The Next Iron Chef contestant Eric Greenspan. Chef Greenspan (or @ChefGreeny) on Twitter is a Cal Alumni having graduated from the Haas School of Business.
He also has a great book about Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. Read more about his prestigious victory here. Or catch him down in Los Angeles cooking at the Tesla Diner and Drive-In in Hollywood. Congrats Eric! Now to make some sandwiches…
*Slaps Roof of Super Computer*
This baby can make memes super fast.
The Associated Press put together a video article on a new supercomputer currently being built up in the hills at the Berkeley National Lab. The supercomputer will be used by researchers across a variety of concentrations to power the next major breakthrough and ensure that there next will be Stanfurdium. That or the Calgorithm is going to be able to make memes in record time. Read more in Berkeleyside’s write up here.
