One note on that Women's sports medicine data. I was at a local Orthopedic and Sports Medicine clinic a couple months ago. When there I saw a large display talking about ACL injuries in female athletes.
The data indicated women suffer ACL tears at a much higher rate than males in the same sports, and they don't recover from them as well as males either.
