Golden Nuggets - Dwinelle Hall, Peet's, and Salmon?
Learn why Dwinelle be like that.
Hello and welcome to Golden Nuggets, our weekly recap article where we try to highlight all the fun, funny, or interesting things you might have missed roughly over the last week across Bear Territory (the whole damn world of course). Think of it like a cheat sheet for small talk about Cal.
Peet’s Coffee Closing?
In news I missed last week, as part of the Peet’s acquisition by Dr. Pepper/Keurig (I mean sure why not.) a number of Peet’s stores are slated for closure, including potentially the Peet’s Coffee located on Dwight and Telegraph. Read more about the potential closure in the Daily Californian.

Cultivated Salmon
In what is likely the first time this sentence has ever been typed, “Political Science Alumnus develops world’s first cultivated salmon.” Yum!

Cal Pros Recap
Football
Craig Woodson and Jaylinn Hawkins got some love from The Athletic. Craig and Jaylinn also came by to check out DBU. Marshawn Lynch was in Game of Thrones I guess. Jared Goff, Cam Jordan, and Marshawn also came by to hang out with Tosh. Cam Jordan also wrecked a local elementary school in Dodge Ball. Also a clip resurfaced of Bill Maher interviewing Marshawn that I will invite you to find and watch on your own time and definitely not on a work computer.
Basketball
The Cavs look like they’re going to keep Jaylon Tyson which is a good sign of things to come. Especially after stepping in it with regards to Lebron James. And Jaylen Brown is firing on all cylinders now. And Player of the Month for the first time in his NBA Career!

And so we find ourselves again at the end of Golden Nuggets. I appreciate you all reading this, and I have a ton of fun writing it. Hope to see some of you when I finally make it back to a Cal Basketball game against Clemson on Saturday! Find me and get some stickers!

Dwinelle!!! Took my last final in a cramped room there...never forget walking out into the fresh evening air and giving a loud woop of joy to all who would listen.
I may have two copies of that Sprit of Cal lp. No buttons though.
