Senior Day Continued!
Cal Men’s Water Polo celebrated Senior Day this week. Congrats Kai Seed, Roberto Valera, Wyatt Mundelius, Jordi Gascon, Jake Howerton, Max Casabella, Itay Batito, George Avakian, Will Kieckhafer, Brady Hoover, and Blake Hoover!
Ha Ha! Business!
UC Berkeley received a grant aimed at helping researchers and their breakthroughs make it out of the laboratory and into the world. The funds will help continue the program that has given us technology like MyShake, an early detection earthquake technology.
Ott To Go
The Calgorithm remains undefeated with Honorary Sturdy Golden Bear Rece Davis tweeting out “Ott To Go” during the World Series.

The San Francisco Chronicle wrote a story on Randy Wickstrom, Cal Men’s Gymnast NCAA Champion who passed from AIDS in 1990. It’s a touching article remembering Randy.

Keeping Palo Alto Bear Territory
Cal Men’s and Women’s Soccer took care of business this week, declaring Stanford Bear Territory in thrilling victories down on the farm. Go Bears!
Cal Athletes Getting Honored
On top of that Kevin Carmichael was named ACC Co-Defensive Player of the Week and named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week for scoring the game-winner! Congrats Kevin! Elsewhere, Liz Klompmaker and Canisha Van Duyn were named to the All-ACC Field Hockey Team! Not content with just that award, Liz Klompmaker was named ACC Freshman of the Year! Congrats Liz!
Cal Athletics Roundup
Cal Women’s Golf came in 5th at the Nanea Invitational. Field Hockey lost to Stanford and North Carolina. Women’s Soccer took down #14 Stanford. Men’s and Women’s Cross Country competed in the ACC Championships placing 9th and 15th. Volleyball lost to Florida State and Miami. Men’s Soccer beat Stanford. Men’s Water Polo lost to No. 1 UCLA and No. 2 USC. Cal Women’s Basketball started their season strong beating Saint Mary’s 90-58. Men’s Basketball started strong as well beating CSU Bakersfield.
Cal Pros Roundup
Aaron Rodgers threw for 211 yards and 3 Touchdowns on Thursday Night Football in a win over the Texans. Jared Goff quietly completed 81% of his passes for 145 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Packers. Cam Bynum played some solid defense, and equally solid celebrations. The Jayle(o)ns are on the mend (Get Well Soon!)
