Golden Nuggets: Pizza, NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP WATCH PARTY, UC Berkeley enters the Gubernatorial Race
I've always laughed at Gubernatorial. What a silly word.
Hello and welcome to Golden Nuggets, our weekly recap article where we try to highlight all the fun, funny, or interesting things you might have missed roughly over the last week across Bear Territory (the whole damn world of course). Think of it like a cheat sheet for small talk about Cal.
Main Course: PIZZA PIZZA
I’m writing this before dinner so I’m a little hungry right now, but we start this week with news that the new Rose Pizzeria opened in the Richmond over in San Francisco! Rose Pizzeria started in Berkeley and rose to fame last summer after the New York Times put the restaurant on the 22 Best Pizza Places in the US and the SF Chronicle gave it a glowing review. Read more about the hottest new pizza in San Francisco in SFist.
HEADLANDS RUGBY WATCH PARTY
In case your domicile is subterranean, you might not know that this weekend, Cal Rugby is headed to Indianapolis to attempt to repeat as National Champions in the College Rugby Association of America National Championship! You can probably still get a ticket to Indy, but if you can’t, you’re more than welcome to join some Write For California folks and other Rugby fans on campus at Headlands at the National Championship Watch Party! Between 3 PM and 7 PM, you get 20% off pitchers! If I’m mathing correctly, you can basically drink 5 pitchers of beer for the price of 4 Now that’s Bear’s Lair math if I’ve ever seen it.

My personal favorite Berkeley pizzeria is Emeilia’s - world’s most annoying ordering system but one-man pizza nerd operation turns out some amazing and expensive pizzas
