Help Cal tight end Camden Jones and his family recover from the Eaton Fire
The Cal football player lost his home in the Los Angeles wildfires.
Cal family, one of our own needs your help.
Cal tight end Camden Jones, who hails from Southern California, lost his home in the Eaton Fire in Altadena, one of the major wildfires currently raging through Los Angeles. A GoFundMe has been established in their family’s name for those who are able to support the Jones family. The initial goal is $25,000.
Here is the full message from Teri Tino, mother of Cal defensive lineman Derek Wilkins:
My name is Teri, and I'm a Cal Football mom. One of our fellow Cal Football Families, the Jones family, has tragically lost their family home in Altadena from the Eaton fire.
Camden Jones, #81, is a Freshman Tight End on the Cal (UC Berkeley) football team.
Carey and Yolanda (parents), Camden, and their Labradoodle "Santo" were all able to evacuate safely, but their house and everything in it was unfortunately lost in the fire.
Not only did they lose their home, they lost all of their belongings, personal items, and mementos. Camden lost the house he practically grew up in, and all his football memorabilia. Chelsea (Carey and Yolanda's adult daughter) did not live in the home, but all of the presents from her recent wedding were lost as they were being stored at the family house until Chelsea and her and new husband, Dustin, were able to move into their new home.
This lovely family has suffered devastating losses, they have lost everything. Please donate to help support them as they navigate this new and difficult journey. Any amount will help. Thank you in advance for your support
For those who are looking to help or support those in need in the Los Angeles area (or those in Los Angeles looking to support each other), here is a spreadsheet of resources to help those locally and remotely.
You can also donate to the following:
The Community Foundation's Wildlife Recovery Fund, which supports intermediate and long-term recovery efforts for California wildfires.
The California Fire Foundation, which provides immediate assistance to victims through programs like supplying disaster relief cash cards to those affected by wildfires.
The General Wildlife Fund at GoFundMe, which will issue recovery grants to hundreds who suffer from wildfires this year.
Thank you Cal family, and all our thoughts and blessings go to those impacted in Los Angeles. Go Bears.
In your opinion, what has been worse between Los Angeles 1992 riots and Los Angeles 2024 wildfire?
Thank you for passing on these resource links. You have named two of them incorrectly. In both instances where you have “Wildlife” in the agency/fund names, these should instead be “Wildfire”. Wildlife recovery, though itself important, is not what you have linked here. Best to the Jones family as they slowly recover from this incredibly devastating fire.
