I guess I don't really understand the question...for me there is only one way to take Cal Football...as serious as the heart attack I nearly have every game day. I bleed blue and gold and love the we are back at this year, abbreviated or not.

I'll certainly take it less seriously than normal, but find it also more valuable! Less real, too much apples to oranges to weigh the wins or losses against normal measures, and yet, I can't wait! I'm intensely interested in which players we have lost, and which other teams have lost. Will there be a post on this? I heard Cal will release a roster soon. And what about the players refusing to play until conditions were met?

I’m all in as if it were a real season! If someone’s star/ter QB opts out or gets Covid, that’s where the asterisks will come in for me. But if Cal wins, I’ll be just as thrilled, tho I MAY not talk too much sh*t if the other team was fully hampered by lost players (not that anyone gave us a pass back in that season where we had more injured starters than any team in the nation).

Go Bears!

Such a bizarre season. I'll save y'all from my Little Hands Donny political rant. WTS....

1. With a large grain of salt. Players skipping season, players missing games, coaches missing games, a shortened season, no "preseason" OOC games, no home field advantage with empty stadiums, etc etc etc...

2. Highly doubtful. Maybe if one team runs the table, passes the "eye test," and simply demolishes the other teams.

Divisional championships and a conference championship will be earned. After resistance in not only met each week, but overcome at least most of them. Those that earn the championships will value them. Those that tried to win them and didn't would have valued them if they had won.

And for any of those who think it doesn't matter, I'd invite them to quickly become a walk-on, work hard enough to step onto the field on just one action play, and after the collision, let us know how they feel then about whether it matters.

Legit if the Bears win or approximate something like 5-2 or better. If we stumble I'll blame conditioning, not knowing the Musgrave playbook and the other factors related to Covid. Still, as you say, it's awfully hard to know what 18-22 year olds are thinking at any given time. I'm assuming the players' demands announced a couple of months ago will not be met. College Football is the only show in town so if they want to play in the NFL they have to give in to the fearsome power of the NCAA.

Haha. Leach & Costello vs LSU. PAC 12 rejects > SEC.

1) I’ll take every Cal win seriously.

2) If Sturdy Golden Bears win seven games in league play, of course they are as legit as any other season. It won’t be like the eventual champ had no COVID 19 to deal with. Nick is right.
