How to watch the ESPN “College GameDay” show
The California Golden Bears will host ESPN’s flagship college football pre-game show, “College GameDay,” on Saturday morning. ESPN “College GameDay” airs on ESPN and ESPN U from 6 to 9 a.m. Pacific.
“College GameDay” will air live from Memorial Glade on the Cal campus in Berkeley, Calif., to cover Cal’s college football program as a host for the very first time in the history of the TV series. Berkeley is the 105th city the show has visited.
The show can also be streamed online on the ESPN app or the ESPN website with an ESPN+ subscription or a live TV streaming service.
What will ESPN’s “College GameDay” be like at Berkeley?
ESPN’s “College GameDay” is free to the public and will include a live DJ, giveaways, Pat McAfee’s kicking contest and the live recording of the show from Memorial Glade on the Cal campus.
The “pit,” or the area closest and immediately behind the infamous “College GameDay” desk, will open at 3 a.m. Pacific. Access is open on a first-come, first-served basis and pending on-site security clearance, and the line-up is scheduled to open as early as midnight on Saturday.
Cal will give the first 1,000 fans on Saturday free doughnuts, pastries, coffee and breakfast burritos. ESPN will also give away Xbox consoles and copies of EA Sports’ CFB 25 college football video game before the show.
Who are the special guests on ESPN’s “College GameDay” at Berkeley?
ESPN “College GameDay” will be hosted by Rece Davis and analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAffee and Nick Saban. Pete Thamel, college football betting analyst “Stanford Steve” Coughlin and ESPN reporters Jen Lada and Jess Sims will round out the sports network’s coverage of Cal.
Cal head coach Justin Wilcox and Miami head coach Mario Cristobal will be live on set.
According to a press release issued by ESPN, reporter Jess Sims will also interview some of Cal’s 59 Olympians who participated in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Cal’s legendary running back Marshawn Lynch is ESPN’s “College GameDay” guest picker in week six.

Cal was one of the few “Power Four” college football teams to have never hosted ESPN’s “College GameDay” program. The University of California, Berkeley, is the 82nd school to host ESPN’s flagship college sports show.
Cal has appeared on “College GameDay” three times and has a 1-2 record when on the show. Its last “College GameDay” win was a 31-24 victory against the No. 11 Oregon Ducks on Sept. 29, 2007, when it was ranked No. 6 in the country.
Miami makes its 25th appearance on “College GameDay,” and boasts a 15-9 winning record when the show covers its games.
