How to watch the California v. Idaho college football game
The California Golden Bears (1-1) will look to bounce back after its loss against Auburn in its match-up with the Idaho Vandals (2-0) this weekend. The contest is the fifth game in the series, and the Golden Bears have won every game to date.
California running back Jaydn Ott remains “day to day,” but head coach Justin Wilcox told reporters Tuesday that the star player is expected to play against Idaho. Ott suffered an injury when attempting to hurdle an Auburn defender in the third quarter. Before leaving the game last Saturday, he rushed for a game-high 78 yards and a touchdown.
The Golden Bears’ defense has been a tear recently, limiting foes to an average of 227.5 yards per game. The team is second in the Pac-12 Conference and 12th nationally among NCAA football teams in total defense. Last week, Cal limited Auburn’s offense to only 14 points and punished the visiting Tigers with three forced fumbles.
But California would do well not to overlook the Vandals.
Idaho defeated the Nevada Wolfpack last weekend 33-6 in Reno, Nevada, and scored 19 unanswered points starting right before halftime. Vandal quarterback Gevani McCoy scored a 75-yard touchdown pass on the game’s first offensive play.
