Last week, slightly. Hard to know but we’d have to dive into the interior o line context vs Auburn. This week, if we can’t run, withou Cindo or Ott then there’s bigger problems

This is a game where we need to impose our will. Early and often. We tried last week but the Auburn defense was too big and fast. This week we will do it. At the end of the afternoon Cal by two touchdowns.

Idaho is a very good FCS level team. But let's understand these guys went into Sacramento late in the season last year and lost to Sacramento State. UC Davis took them to the woodshed two weeks later. Cal has the ability to force its will in the trenches and should do so if they are motivated and coached up to win. I am really looking forward to seeing a dominating Cal win tomorrow instead of a nail biting win or even a loss that would inspire Mr. Kunnath to write how "Cal lost everything, Part 2," in the Idaho game.

To play devil's advocate for a bit, those are both very good FCS teams-- Sac State was the #2 FCS team last year, and barely escaped with the win over Idaho. In both games, though, Idaho struggled to run the ball and struggled even harder to stop the run. The presumption is that Idaho will be better than last year (they're returning almost everyone, and a number of key players were just freshmen last year), but I don't see any indication of their run defense being better, so I would assume they will struggle to contain Ott or Ifanse or whoever we put back there.

Ott may just need to play, and play significantly. I don't think Idaho can contain him. But otherwise, I could see Idaho turning this into a rock fight, and we know how well Cal does in those.

If Ott plays he has to stop pussy footing into the hole. Last week that's what he did and as a result he got to the hole late. He has to hit it full speed and quit looking for it to open.

I hate that damn article. The truth of it was painful. We can't have any more of them.

I hope we don’t forget to try running the ball up the middle.
