Eager to see the post game interviews posted to hear the energy of the comments by players and coach. Seasons can turn on a trifle, just like games. I don't see Virginia as a great bellweather of the ACC, but they are like us in record and a team we needed to beat at home. The defensive intensity tonight was so very welcome. I've always thought this team has the size and talent to be good defensively, just as they are offensively, but defense is 10% how to and 90% want to.

Good to see Cal get an ACC basketball win. This isn't the 2019 National Championship team but it is still a program with a proud tradition in a tough basketball league.

The broadcast said that 4 of their losses have come to top 25 teams so there record is a bit missleading. Definitely a solid win.

It was nice to get the first ACC win in basketball against a respected program.

I'd like to add that the only thing "flagrant" about that Lee Dort foul was that it flagrantly violated the dignity of that poor Virginia bastard. Lee simply stood there, his great hulking mass and tree trunk legs, and that silly guy ran into him. I really thought it was a charging foul myself. It's not Lee's fault he's built like a tank. I absolutely love that about Lee's game. Did you see that little smile he flashed after the play???? God I love that attitude of "Really, now, you think you're coming in here on me like that? Do you see my frame?"

I'm with you. I laughed heartily when that happened. Same thing when Cofie did his head-bobbing shimmyshakes going 1-on-1 against Mady. Mady just stood his ground, his frame just saying "Try it."

Sissoko played like a man last night. Dort's had his own flashes over the season. We are truly blessed at the 5 this year in comparison to recent history.

Virginia looked a bit tired by the end. I think east coast teams flying in and playing late pacific time zone games seems a bit unfair compared to Cal going to east coast.

I know when I travel to east coast, I tend to stay up late but difficult to get up early. Opposite happened with travel to west coast.

It's harder on the players' bodies to play 3 hours east than west, it's been proven.
