We need to get these boys into meditation or something so they can practice on their focus rofl

I've not read any analysis or comments highlighting that stood out to me, that the problem in the Ole Miss game was starting slow and Mad Dog said he would get the team to start faster. Well, they sure did that! That opening sequence with Cone and Fardaws was pure joy to watch. Kennedy making steals. UCSD is a solid team, and the Bears weathered their comeback. I'm pleased with this win. I watched some of the Arizona/Alabama game and for the first time in a while they don't look dramatically bigger and faster. They are clearly a better team, granted, but we don't fail the eyeball test as much. I'd take several of our players over a few of theirs. That's progress for sure. Go Bears!

Man, that turnover by Aimaq at the end was absolutely brutal. What could he have been thinking? Close to a game costing play!

Yeah that was ugly. But was exactly what we needed. Giving minutes to newcomers will payoff in the long run. But still can Grant hit a f*king shot once in a while? Great seeing Askew back and seeing Curtis in person for the first time. Didn’t hear any of the post game comments from mad dog. Did he say anything interesting?

From my notes from MadDog postgame;

a. Tyson off the bench was a conscious decision to mix it up. He will be starting next week.

b. Very happy with the assists/baskets in the first half. UCSD came out aggressive in 2H.

c. Very happy with Newell overall, especially on defensive end.

We beat a team we couldn’t beat last season. That's improvement

How you start counts and how you finish counts. This is a good omen and a confidence-builder. Proud of this team and coaches.

A W is a W. And inconsistency is better than being consistently bad, as we were last year. But still...

A W. I will take it. More wins than all last year. Work to be done but Mad Dog will have the team working.
